We are longtime members of the Mercedes Benz Club of America Smoky Mountain Section. This past weekend, several members of our group met in the little town of Townsend, TN, to drive along the Foothills Parkway and have lunch together in Pigeon Forge at the end of our trip.
We planned to stay for the weekend, so I brought a mini wardrobe which included navy and white items. My orange Dooney & Bourke bag (here) and Cole Haan nude flats (here) worked with all the pieces. My shirt is a Portofino from Express (here). The dark wash jeans are by Liverpool Jeans Co (here). My link bracelet is here.
This was the back view from our hotel.
Later in the day, we decided to drive into Gatlinburg, where there are lots of shops and unique attractions. Or you can buy an ice cream cone and sit on one of the many benches to watch all the people and antique cars pass by. The more adventuresome can take a tram or ski lift to the top of the mountain or go for a hike by a stream.
On Saturday morning, we met with our group to go for our drive. The views were stunning!
When you travel in a convertible, it is always a good idea to bring a hat. Mine was from J.Jill last year. (Similar hat here) The navy waterfall top is also from last year. It is by Clara Sunwoo via My Fair Lady. (Similar top here) The white jeans are by Levi’s (here). The shoes are by Cole Haan (here). The silver link bracelet is here.
I love the Portofino shirts that you introduced me to and I now have several. Mine have pockets as does the link to Express you provided. How does your white shirt not have pockets? I love it even more!
A great classic yet casual and comfortable for the day.
Susan, are you wearing a shell under the white blouse? If so, would you mind sharing what it is? Thank you.
Hi Susan, has anyone else reported that when I click on the link for the bracelet, I get a scam alert message.
I love white, with over half of my closet white tops. Thanks for sharing your adventures, and looks. Pat
Love the shoes and they are on sale! Wondering what color they are? The Cole Haan site shows a color called Maple Sugar. They look a little darker than yours. Thanks so much!
Hi Susan,
I love Navy with white pants! I plan on doing that more this summer!
I was wondering what brand your watch is, I enjoy wearing a large face watch too.
I started wearing one two years ago when I bought a large face watch on a trip to Germany!
Just wanted to add, I believe you are about one month older than me! My birth date is October 16, 1956!
Love your blog, thank you!
Take care,
~Linda
Thank you! The watch is one I bought recently, but I would not recommend it. It is challenging to put on and then even more difficult to get off. The clasp is the worst design ever. Here is a watch I wish I had purchased. It looks like much better quality, and it has a buckle and strap clasp.
Hi Susan, as for the Portofino shirt, do you wear the classic one or the slim fit? Thank you for sharing your adventures, always an inspiration! You have soo influenced what I choose to wear and buy, thank you for that. It’s still a work in progress though. Have a wonderful spring!
That’s the same double thick cami I sometimes wear under jackets. I bought it at White House|Black Market a few years ago. Express sometimes has something similar also like the one here.
Susan, Your weekend outfits look so fresh and comfortable! The view from your hotel looks so peaceful; I was wondering if you would mind sharing where you stayed. Thank you.
You look great! Best you’ve looked in awhile… I’ve followed you off and on for over a year and you look happy, fit, and awesome. Congrats for achieving a balance that’s had to come by.
Susan, I love your sense of style. It is casual elegant. Even if the particular item you have linked is beyond my budget, you will have pulled together an outfit that I can easily recreate within my budget.
Beautifully effortless looks, Susan. I lived in a tiny town in the Appalachian mountains (Virginia) in my early 20’s and visiting Gatlinburg was always a treat. I am heading over to Cole Haan for those shoes.
Keep checking the ShopMyFairLady.com website. Clara Sunwoo and IC Collection come out with new items all the time, so a similar top in that fabulous fabric may show up again. You might also find the same style on PoshMark or eBay.
Susan,
You resemble Michael Learned, particularly in the last photo. Stunning outfits!
Are you going to do a video blog soon? I look forward to the information you provide in them.
Love the pictures. That area is so beautiful. You look lovely as always. Is the antique(?) Mercedes Mr. Mickey’s? Love it
too. You inspired me to purchase two tops from the web sites you suggested and one has arrived and fits perfectly. Thank you for your blog and videos, so fun.
You are such an inspiration! I love looking through your website any time I need a “pick me up” to boost my spirit! I love your sense of style and the simplicity you espouse. Thank you for doing this website/blog for all of us!
Hi Susan, I am a bit late on catching up on your posts. I had a quick question on the Cole Hahn flats. With such a pointed to, do you find you need to size up a half size?
I love the Portofino shirts that you introduced me to and I now have several. Mine have pockets as does the link to Express you provided. How does your white shirt not have pockets? I love it even more!
The one I am wearing is a few years old. I couldn’t find them without pockets now.
My family went to Gatlinburg for vacation on multiple occasions when I was growing up. Your photos bring back such great memories!
I used to go there on church and school trips as well as on dates when I was young. The drive didn’t seem nearly so long when I was eighteen!
You look fabulous! Love Gatlinburg getaways. Thank you!
A great classic yet casual and comfortable for the day.
Susan, are you wearing a shell under the white blouse? If so, would you mind sharing what it is? Thank you.
I am wearing a double layer cami. I bought it a couple of years ago at White House|Black Market.
I love, love the white blouse and hat. Looks like a wonderful weekend.
Hi Susan, has anyone else reported that when I click on the link for the bracelet, I get a scam alert message.
I love white, with over half of my closet white tops. Thanks for sharing your adventures, and looks. Pat
No! Thank you for telling me that. I will let the site owner know about this. Thank you!
You look marvelous, and so does the scenery!! Great weather for a weekend in G. ☀️☀️
Love the shoes and they are on sale! Wondering what color they are? The Cole Haan site shows a color called Maple Sugar. They look a little darker than yours. Thanks so much!
Maple Sugar is the color name of my shoes.
Your blog is inspiring. Thank you so much.

I wear the classic fit and order a size larger. I don’t want to get that gap at the bust.
Susan, do purchase most of your clothing online or, physically shop it?
I buy most of my clothing online.
Susan, what kind of camisole do you wear under your white shirts?
That’s the same double thick cami I sometimes wear under jackets. I bought it at White House|Black Market a few years ago. Express sometimes has something similar also like the one here.
Susan, Your weekend outfits look so fresh and comfortable! The view from your hotel looks so peaceful; I was wondering if you would mind sharing where you stayed. Thank you.
We stayed at the Cades Cove Best Western.
Susan,
Lovely outfits!! You look so nice and put together!! What are you wearing under the white portofino shirt for coverage?
Thanks so much,
Carol
I wore a layered cami from White House|Black Market a few years ago. Express also has a similar silky cami.
You look great! Best you’ve looked in awhile… I’ve followed you off and on for over a year and you look happy, fit, and awesome. Congrats for achieving a balance that’s had to come by.
Hi Susan,
You look lovely. Classy and casual. This is one of my all time favorite looks.
Love the white blouse and navy jeans! You look so fresh and pretty!

Thank you for sharing!!!
Love the navy/white switch around. And those shoes are perfect!
Love the navy and white look. Looks like you had lots of fun!
I love the navy waterfall top, but don’t love any of the current Sunwoo tops…any other suggestions?
Keep checking the ShopMyFairLady.com website. Clara Sunwoo and IC Collection come out with new items all the time, so a similar top in that fabulous fabric may show up again. You might also find the same style on PoshMark or eBay.

Mr. Mickey’s car is the midnight blue one. The antique one belonged to another gentleman.

Thank you for your kind words. You’ll never know how much it means to me.
Hi Susan, I am a bit late on catching up on your posts. I had a quick question on the Cole Hahn flats. With such a pointed to, do you find you need to size up a half size?
Thanks!
No. I bought my usual size 8.5 medium. My feet have that sort of shape, so the pointed toe works best for me.
