When I lost nearly fifty pounds about seven years ago, I had to buy all new everything. Not even my shoes fit. It took some trial and lots of errors to find my style rhythm and to build a wardrobe that works well for my life. I started blogging about that journey because I couldn’t find relevant information to help me navigate that process. (There weren’t many over forty bloggers at that time.) When you have to build your wardrobe from scratch, it is easy to get into the habit of shopping often.
Now that I have what I need, I may only shop for something new once or twice a season if at all. I am not tempted by the newest things and certainly not by anniversary sales. The exception to my rule would be bras. They do not last for very long no matter how careful I am with them. I was recently in Asheville (again!) so I picked up some replenishments at Soma. This time I tried the Vanishing Back style. The fit is better for my current shape and the back provides a much smoother line. Dress the body you have now.
