Do you get recognized when you are out or when you travel? (I like your blog the best!)
Thank you, MC. I am surprised how often people recognize me from the blog. It’s always a pleasure to meet someone who follows along with my adventures.
Another great post Susan! BTW, I like your longer hairstyle, it’s youthful and very flattering. As always, thanks for the shopping links.
What a nice stay at The Martha it is a beautiful place and especially in the spring. It looked like you had a very relaxing couple of days doing things you like to do. It’s always very rejuvenating to go to a spa for services. I really like your outfits for the couple of days. They are so simple and look comfortable so you didn’t have to take much with you. I always take way too much with me and only wear a few items. I’m going to try to take less and less on my next trips. Also love your longer hair!!
Thank you for sharing your relaxing getaway with us! Always love your outfits and appreciate the inspiration. You have quite a following and I would love to run into you while out and about. I knew Tania lived in that area and it is great you two met. I’m sure you are aware that lots of your pictures are on Pinterest. There was an article on “how to dress” and you and several other ladies were featured (without your permission of course.) Brenda Kinsel was even featured and she has been gone several years.
I was wondering if you could tell me how the J Crew stripped cardigan fits. Was wondering about what size you are wearing too. Thank you!
I bought several of those cardigans in size large. I’ve come to like slightly oversized things when they have buttons. Shirts, jackets, and cardigans definitely should not fit too tight.
Through the years your posts get better and better. Thank you for sharing with us.
Thank you, Nancy. I wish I had learned all these things many years ago, but I’m glad I know now.
It was wonderful running into you! You were sitting on a bench at the Martha with your back to me, but I noticed you because of your gorgeous outfit! We must get together for lunch one day. ️
That would be such fun!
I always appreciate your travel features. There are so many exciting places to visit! I think I’m not as creative with the limited clothing items, so it’s always informative to see how you style them. I love your denim jacket! I need to buy a pair of new white sneakers. How do you keep yours looking clean and fresh? Wishing you joy in the everyday events of your week!
Thank you, Lynne. I was just thinking my sneakers were looking pretty battered. They have a lot of miles on them, but I clean them with a damp paper towel each time I wear them.
Thanks for your wonderful post. I always appreciate your tips and adventures. I find that cutting a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser into pieces and using them to clean white sneakers and white soles of shoes works well.
Thank you for sharing that tip, Mary Lou.
Love all of the looks and especially the jacket and the cardigan. Great post Susan.
I can feel how relaxing your getaway was! Love the bracelet and that shade of lipstick on you
So sharp! Crisp and classy! Thanks for sharing! We must add The Martha to our list!
Thank you for sharing your lovely mini break, good for the soul to have a change of scenery. .
I fell in love with those pretty silver flip flops and I like the classic straight style jeans and black ones too
Your silver jewellery is so stylish and you wear it well
Stylish tips as always , I have learnt a lot from you over the years and it’s all so appreciated.

Are you comfortable, traveling without the company of others?
Oh, yes! Solo travel is my favorite.
How fun that you & Tania met up in Abington. I follow both of you.
I follow Lyn Slater on IG! She’s a delight! Love your outfits and how you condensed them by using different jackets and sweaters. You’re the best influencer for women our age, teaching us how to use what we have! I truly appreciate your information and inspiration, I have learned so much from you this past 5 years!❤
Thank you very much for the lovely comment, Gwen.
Hi, Enjoy reading your blog.
My email has changed
Will you be able to update for me so I don’t miss any new blogs
thanks
Hi Joann. I’ll update your email address for you. Thanks for letting me know.
Silver jewelry is my most favorite and, so of course I clicked on links to check your purchases out. Both bracelets are affordably priced – the discount you offer is a nice “incentive on the one. And, best of all, should these pieces be stolen (not a pleasant thought but it can happen), these bracelets could easily be replaced. That’s a gift in itself!
Thank you for sharing this post about your trip and fashions! I love your positive outlook and your style. I just turned 62, and I find strength from your words and your courage to live vibrantly.
While I look forward to learning how to style my wardrobe so that I feel more confident, I am encouraged by your examples of an active lifestyle and experiences. Susan, you have helped me in so many ways — thank you!!
I’ve followed you since your first days of YouTube! Shortly after discovering you, I realized you were just down the road from me (I live in Kpt). Just wanted to say hi and I hope that you and Mr Mickey are both doing well! -Kim
Thank you, Kim. Nice to hear from you.
What’s for Easter?
Church and family time.
I think we must be kindred spirits. You look gorgeous in most anything you wear. I do think your best jeans cut are the straight leg versions. They really give you a classy lady look.
I do admire your work ethic and the efforts you put into each post.
Hope you and Mr. Mickey are well and as happy as you can be.
Thanks for every post you do. They’ve helped me so much.
Love that jacket, Susan. You looked gorgeous, as usual!
I love the way you combined these simple classic pieces for such a sharp look! Thank you so much for sharing your tips and travels. Very inspirational!
Thank you, Michele!
Your delightful and inspiring post was just what I needed to read after coming off of 3 days with no power in the northeast. Definitely adding a 3 day GF getaway to my 2024 list. Love the jean jacket!
Oh, I’m so excited to see that Lyn Slater book! I think I recognize her from the Advanced Style universe of dashing, stylish ladies of a certain age.
What a wonderful trip – thanks for sharing it with us.
Hi Susan……..I hope you enjoyed your trip. I loved the pictures. We just had friends purchase a home in Bristol so we are anxious to go and see the area.
If you ever decide to sell the denim blazer or the light colored one you have I would very much be interested in purchasing one or the other. I tried to get the
Light colored one from WHBM but they were all gone.
Enjoy your Easter.
I have followed Tania for many years. When you said you were in Abingdon in your first post, I immediately thought how funny it would be if you ran into her.
You always look great, lovely and classy. I am loving your hair length and style. It’s so flattering. Your skin is glowing.
You have found the style and fit that’s brings out the best in you!
I am always trying to find clothing that is body and age appropriate. Apple shape at 70. A bit of a challenge way too often. LOL.
In a past post you mentioned that you were reading Maisie Dobbs. Thank you. What a wonderful series. U read them all and am anxiously awaiting her last of the series to be released in June.
Hi Susan,
I just found your website, and I love it. Thanks for sharing. We seem to have a love for classic tailored clothing. I am 60 and still working, but I am looking more carefully at what my clothing purchases after retirement should considered, and your site has been helpful.
Thanks,
Sheila
Welcome Sheila! I hope you continue to enjoy the website.
