Style blogger’s posts or YouTube videos documenting 7 Days, 7 Looks are entertaining and beneficial since they give us an overall sense of a person’s style. Those posts also provide inspiration and ideas on how to style things we may already have, so I’m sharing a few of my latest looks.
Let’s start with Friday.
I had an early morning doctor’s appointment and then a meeting at the bank, so I dressed for business. Later, I joined Mr. Mickey for lunch at an outdoor cafe with sunny temperatures near eighty.

As the day warmed up, I removed the blazer and added a linen tunic and a smaller bag for our lunch date.
Saturday
We were on our way to brunch at Stony Knob Cafe on Saturday. The sun was shining as we enjoyed temperatures in the seventies.

Sunday
This look features what I wore to church on Sunday and to visit my parents in the afternoon. The weather was overcast, with temperatures near seventy. The jacket looks great with an all-white base, but we had the threat of rain for most of the day. I always avoid wearing light-colored pants when it might rain since it is nearly impossible to get splashback stains out.

The jacket was from Mango last year, but the one here is similar. The tank is here. (I went up a size so it won’t pull across the bust.) I’ve been wearing the microfiber tanks for years. They provide a smooth first layer that allows the second layer to move freely without dragging on the fabric. The earrings are here. A similar silver belt is here. The shoes and bag are from a couple of years ago, but I bought them here.
Monday

On Monday, I do laundry, a few housekeeping chores, and shop for groceries, so I wear something comfortable but easy to elevate while running an errand. Our weather turned colder, with temps in the forties, so I reached for a jacket and boots. Wearing the crossbody strap with my Botiker bag allows hands-free shopping without putting it in the cart. My bag is about four years old, but this one is similar.

The sweater is here, jeans are here, jacket is here. The short boots are over five years old, but I bought them here. Similar Kate Spade eyeglass frames are here.
Tuesday

On Tuesday, I joined a friend for lunch in her courtyard. The sun was shining, and the temperatures were in the seventies. I draped a navy sweater over my shoulders for extra warmth if needed.
The last time I tucked in just the front of my shirt, lots of you asked for a picture of the back. To style the shirt this way, I fold the back under, roll the edges slightly more than the back, and then tuck in just the front part. It’s a way to define your waist without showing the whole of it.

Similar shirts are here and here. The sweater is here. Similar jeans are here. The shoes and bag are over two years old, but I purchased them here. The sunglasses are here.
Wednesday

On Wednesday, my sister made lunch for us, and later, we went for a long walk along the trails by the river at South Holston Lake.
The sweater and jeans are old, but I bought them here. A similar baseball cap is here. The wear-with-everything, bra-friendly tank is here. The sunglasses are here. The sneakers are here.
Thursday

I had an early morning dermatology appointment on Thursday, so I wore jeans and a blazer with flat sling-back shoes. My blazer is about five years old, but a similar one is here. A similar scoop neck top is here. The jeans are here. The flats are here. The bag is here. My scarf is over ten years old, but similar silk square scarves can be found here and here.
I’ve shared a shopping link when the items I’ve shown you are still available. Otherwise, I’ll share where I bought them if I can remember. Other items may have been in my collection for a few years, but perhaps you can still get some ideas from the images.

Susan, every post gives ideas and inspiration. Thank you for continuing to help us! Kathy
What a fun post! Just what I needed after my knee replacement surgery, since I have been living in yoga pants and fleece tops for the past ten weeks. Spring is here, and I need to “step it up” in more ways than one!
Thank you, Susan!
This was a fun post and loaded with great ideas. Today is the first day of spring so hopefully I can wear some of these outfits. We did get a snowstorm here in Wisconsin last night. Ugh!
I do have many of the items already in my closet but had to order the jacket. Thanks for putting this together.
beautiful necklace! wish it was in my budget. that looks like it will be in your rotation for years!
Your new necklace looks beautiful on you! All these styles are great, I have to get some things from the Gap!
I am impressed with the high quality of the cotton, linen, or wool items I get from the Gap. The finished seams that lie flat and well-matched stripes indicate workmanship I have always paid a lot more for.
I was so happy with myself!! I’m trying to improve my wardrobe to being more stylish at my age (69). I always love your outfits and try to purchase the items you suggest. In the first picture I realized I already have most of the items you suggested so I’m getting there. Thank you for your great inspiration!!
I am interested in seeing a post about belts. Where do you buy them? Do you always buy leather? How do you determine the best fit and size? How do you store them? Thank you!
I use the belt hanger here. Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll work on that post for you.
Lots of good looks here! I appreciate the casual, but elevated styles that fit into my lifestyle these days. It seems you have a routine for your weeks chores and activities. Is that the case? I really would like to establish a better schedule for myself. Have a lovely week and a hello to Mr. Mickey too!
Thank you, Lynne. It’s good to get the house back in tidy order, change sheets, and start with an empty laundry basket after a busy weekend.
You look so wonderful and classy every day. Thanks for sharing the fashion tips. I treasure your blog. Have a wonderful week.
Thank you, Rory. Your kind comment means a lot to me.
Aren’t ready for the week. I hope you have somewhere to go. Enjoy yourself -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yre6EG3igLE
I love all of your looks here Susan. I am still too scared to try wearing white pants/jeans as I would be scared to sit on something or spill something on them. One tip I found for getting any stain out of white pants (especially cricket pants with grass stains all over them!) is to pour bleach straight on the stain. Scrub the stain immediately and very quickly, then immediately rinse them in lots and lots of water. Easy! (my ex MIL showed me that trick)
Thank you for documenting your looks over the past week! I loved seeing how you put everything together.
Susan, you are a wonder! Such gorgeous outfits for every day of the week that are perfect for each outing! I love the way you put these colors together, and, as always, you look amazing. Thank you for being an inspiration to all of us!
Hi Susan, this might be yet my favorite post of yours. Great ideas and you look stunning!
Susan your clothing stylings are very nice. All are wearable by many of us. Thank you.
Love your blog.
I always enjoy your posts. Thanks for sharing what you wore for the week. So many great ideas!
This is my first comment to you, but I have been following you for years and have learned how to develop my wardrobe with basics. Thank you so much for sharing with all of us. Now it is a joy to pick outfits from my closet.
Thank you for the lovely comment, Laura!
So, once again a very informative post for wardrobe building and curating. Would you say that you strive to have a capsule wardrobe? Also, do you purchase and wear clothing based on a color palette? Just curious. I’ve seen a lot of women getting their colors “done” lately and reducing their wardrobes to only items in their suggested palette.
I stick to the colors black, white, blue, navy, gray, and red. I don’t buy clothing with design details that don’t flatter my shape. New things need to go with what I already have, and I wear most of my items year-round. You could call it a capsule wardrobe because I can layer and style almost everything with most other pieces.
One of your best posts ever. Everything looks smart and comfortable.
Particularly love the first four outfits , Column dressing is my favourite. The all black ensemble you wore to Church is so chic and I am a bag shoe matcher lol . The Chanel style ? lavender jacket is so pretty , I think you wore it before and yo got loads of compliments. Silver hair and silver jewellery are perfect.
Forget to mention before yearly Mammogram normal So keep taking medication and hopefully all will be well next year. Great you and Mr Mickey out and about again . Take care xx
Pamela UK
Yay for you, Pamela! So, wonderful to get good reports.
PS really love the 7 day outfit series, last post was great too. Hope we see more of the 7 day looks , it’s a winner x
Thank you for indicating how to wear the shirt rolled in the back and tucked into the front. I have tried several ways and always look too sloppy. I will try yours soon. Thank you again.
I love having a full week of clothes ideas and especially knowing where you wore what outfit for what occasion. Thank you.
As I generally copy and paste some of the outfits you post that I can use for myself, I was not able to copy the first outfit.
Thank you for always having great advice and passing it on to us. For myself, having a picture to remind me why I like a certain look helps me feel more confident when I use all or at least some of the items like yours.
Someone asked you how to store your belts and you gave a site to check out. Can you also let us know how you store your scarfs or do you just fold them and place them in a drawer?
Clara from Iowa
I fold scarves and hang them on pant hangers (here).
Really love this new showing what you wear in a week.
I hope you keep doing it. You always look so elegant.
Thank you.
After shopping and housekeeping chores, there’s nothing nicer than being barefoot after putting away pumps, boots or flats in your closet. And your photo shows it very well. I love Tuesday’s outfit, really chic and so casual. Because the little extra touch is the stunning pointed toe mules, once again a pair of high heels worn in a very elegant way… your attractive personal signature in fact.
Always classy and make it look easy. I just wish my legs were as long as yours.
Love all these styling ideas. You are a continuing inspiration. I do have a question. I would like a navy blazer, but I hesitate to get linen because of the wrinkles. Do you iron/steam before every wear? Thanks.
A wool or gabardine blazer might be better for you. Here is a very nice one in wool-blend flannel. I do steam the linen ones before wearing them.
I, too, wish I had long legs like you. But your “column of color” dressing really works to make anyone look taller. I especially like your outfits featuring the white column. I had to laugh about not wearing white in the rain. It hardly ever stops raining here in Portland, Oregon, which is why I RARELY wear white. Black column is my go-to with a variety of jackets or crisp blouses over the top. I occasionally wear jeans, but they have never been my go-to pant. Thank you so much for your inspiration about packing. I just packed for a long weekend (4 days) in northern California, and have three outfits put together that will mix and match (one pair of jeans and one pair of black pants + some tops). Most everything fits into my under-the-seat tote, and I share the rest with my husband’s roller bag which will go into the overhead. LOVE your blog, and am interested in belts like a previous fan.
Susan what are your “work horses”? I’m assuming they are your jeans and tops
I’ve been wearing jeans and a tee for many years. The combo can be dressed up or down with accessories, and if the jeans are black, white, or even dark wash blue, they can be worn almost anywhere without looking too casual.
I can’t afford all these expense items.
$230.00 purse
$199.00 necklace
Etc
Plus I’m 77 and short and plump so nothing looks good on me anymore
You look good though
Thanks, Lesta. The ideas are free! Have a lovely day.
Thank you Susan! I really enjoyed viewing your week of outfits.
Hello to Mr. Mickey.
PattyV
Will you share how to drape a sweater over your shoulders? I know it sounds silly, but I’ve tried and it never looks right.
Place the front of the sweater against your back with the arms over your shoulders toward your front. You can tie the arms in front or let them hang down to create vertical lines. It always looks best with a thin sweater rather than one made from bulky cotton.
Red is a color that I appreciate more and more when you wear it. With lipstick as bright as your jacket, you look radiant in the greatest simplicity. Like Saturday’s outfit, sober and yet so elegant, so flashy with this hypnotic color, just made to see only you. Take care and have a great Sunday Susan.
Love posts like this Susan! It’s fun to see how you dress for everyday life situations. It always gives me great ideas.
Living in the NE, it’s still fairly cold, so I’m wearing spring sweaters, still with a winter jacket. I love to wear blazers as you show, as my outer layer, but most days from now, spring, leading up to summer, it’s either too cold or too hot to wear them. So frustrating. There’s usually a very short window to wear all the fun spring sweaters too. Fickle Mother Nature.
You look terrific in everything, but I particularly like you in red, and with the leopard shoes…so chic!
Thank you, Nancy. We still have a few frosty mornings, but afternoons are pleasant. It’s lovely when the weather lets us wear our blazers.
Excellent choices. You always look really “put together“
