We are fortunate to have many lovely destinations, which are only a short pleasant drive from Johnson City. Blowing Rock, North Carolina, is one of our favorites. On Saturday evening, the temperatures were in the low 70’s as we arrived to shop and relax before our dinner reservations at Bistro Roca.
It was the perfect time to take a short stroll around part of Broyhill Park located across the way from the Bistro.
I wore a classic black crepe tank and matching ankle pants. The bracelet was a gift. The bag is from T.J.Maxx earlier this year. The shoes were from Saks Off 5th from last year.
Bailey was the delightful and very knowledgeable young man who served us. We enjoyed salads followed by fish dishes accompanied by fresh vegetables prepared in the French style. We have been visiting Antler’s Bar and Bistro Roca for many years. It is always a delightful experience. This out of the way neighborhood location is where the locals go-to for a cocktail at the end of the day or a relaxing casual meal at lunch, brunch, or dinner. Brunch on the screened porch looking out over the woods is a special treat.
We were in Blowing Rock two years ago with our daughter and son in law. This was one of the restaurants we visited; so good! I enjoyed seeing pictures of the town with everything in bloom!

Oh my what nice memories! It has been years since we were in Blowing Rock and I do miss the last of the summer flowers. And 70’s for temps! Love the way you do a “LBD”!

I love Blowing Rock! I went to summer camp there for 5 years at Camp Yonahlossee back in the 70s. Coming from Florida, I am sure temperatures in the 70s must have been heavenly! My mother has a home in Banner Elk and we used to drive down for a day of shopping and dining…what wonderful memories. Thank you for sharing!
