Getting away often for a few days or even a few hours of relaxation, great food, new scenery, and a slower pace is crucial to well-being. Life should be lived well daily, not just during that one or two weeks per year while on an annual vacation.
While in Dobson, North Carolina, we always stay at the Hampton Inn at Shelton Vineyard. The hotel is near Interstate-77, so it is easy to get to many other areas of interest. On Friday evening we took a beautiful drive up the mountain to have dinner at Chateau Morrisette, the premier Virginia Winery and Restaurant located along the Blue Ridge Parkway in Floyd.
Mabry Mill is along the way. It is one of the most photographed sites on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
We have dined at the restaurant located in the Chateau many times. The terrace offers a panoramic view of the mountains. The always creative and delightful food is presented in a relaxed, inviting atmosphere by very professional employees who go above and beyond to make your visit special.
Thanks for sharing your visit to the wine country. My boyfriend and I took a week off this month to travel to the Austrian wine country near Vienna, along the Danube river (of course, we live in Austria, so it wasn’t such a long trip!).

Love the Blue Ridge Mountains! Such beautiful scenery and especially in the fall. I have a question about the Shapeez bra. I’m considering ordering the longer one, the tankee I believe it is. Is it difficult to get on? I have arthritis in my hands and thought it might be hard for me to get into it. Thanks! I enjoy your blog so much!
I wear both the Tankee and the (more coverage) Ultimate style of Shapeez bras. I pull them on like pantyhose by the body of the bra (never the straps). After I position the cups, I slip my arms into the straps.

Chateau Morrisette produces my favorite Virginia wines. I reside in Virginia and a visit to this winery has been on my wish list for some time now. The setting and the food look absolutely lovely!
