Fit and fabric type determine the variety of ways you can wear these items. Your best ‘white’ top might be in a cream color and have a low V neckline. Accessories always allow me to change the look of basic pieces. When those accessories can be worn in several ways, that is truly a bonus.

The stunning necklace I am wearing in these photos was created by my very talented friend, designer Suzanne McKinney. She has graciously agreed to allow me to offer another giveaway featuring this fabulous necklace. I’ve shown you how it can be worn doubled to fill in the neckline (above) or singularly in a V (below) to create long vertical lines.

The design includes neutral tones with dramatic accents. As pictured below, the necklace is here, and there is also the option of the same necklace in warm tones. Use the code SAS10 For $10 off any one item at Beauty in Stone Jewelry.

The pendant can also be worn in two ways. One side features the three Graces, and a floral crest is on the other.

To enter this giveaway, leave a comment below mentioning something that you are grateful for. I will choose one of the comments at random and announce the winner on Thursday.

I am grateful to you for encouraging me to keep blogging. At the beginning of this year, I feared that interest would fade during these trying times. The comfort we have offered each other throughout the year has been a balm for me. Thank you for being part of my journey. Happy Thanksgiving!

I used the timer on my Sony Alpha a5100 camera and a tripod to take today’s photos. Shopping links in my posts may generate a small commission for me at no additional cost to you.

  16. Gratefulness and thankfulness seem to move to the front burner this time of year. Busy lives and responsibilities can often cause us to forget or take things for granted. Not this year! So many things come to mind but one seems especially mindful. As my fathers life is coming to an end, due to dementia, I am grateful for the caregivers at his facility. They do the work I can not do. Their care is allowing him to decline with the dignity that he deserves and for that I am grateful. I am also grateful for blogs such as yours that provide a distraction during difficult times. Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving to you and all of your followers.

  17. I’m grateful for all the love and positive energy from family and friends that surrounds me.
    Happy Thanksgiving!

  19. I am so very grateful for my faith, my family and friends, my health, for freedom and all those who keep this country safe. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

  20. Isn’t it amazing that no comment thus far mentions anything about being thankful for “stuff and tangible things?” When you reach the stage of life that most of your following are in ,Susan, I think we have realized the truly important things in life and what matters most…..love, family, good health, dear friends, and most of all the love of God.
Happy Thanksgiving to all and thank you, Susan, for such an informative and fun blog.

  21. I am grateful for a full house again even though we lost our beautiful NANA this year, the kids are still here due to pandemic. Nice to have extra time with them before they fly away for good and leave us as empty nesters. Having kids late in life after 20 years of marriage has been interesting and awesome when in your 60s.

  22. Hi Susan – I am grateful for family and friends, for health, for our freedoms here. Just to let you know, I look forward to your blog and enjoy it very much! Have a wonderful thanksgiving!

  27. That is a beautiful necklace. I am grateful for so much this year-for health, my family, and the ability to have hope for the future. I am also grateful for your blog. I would be very interested in learning how you decide what jewelry to wear with an outfit. It all coordinates so well.

  28. I am grateful for my wonderful husband. We have been married for 30 years and he has always been my best friend. No matter what happens I always know that he will be by my side . That’s a wonderful thing and I know I am very lucky.

  32. So grateful for the VACCINE and lessons learned about the world, self, life, loss, love, and hope during this past year.

  33. I’m so grateful I have a wonderful spouse, daughter and her family. Grateful for parents who loved me and raised me right. As a nurse during this time, grateful for my leadership and coworkers who are persevering during this pandemic as now we’re seeing more COVID patients while preparing to provide the COVID vaccine to thousands of patients!

  34. I am SO grateful that I live in North Carolina which is beautiful and mild enough that we can sit outside for Thanksgiving dinner! I love the outfit and the necklace!

  35. Hello Susan. Thanks for continuing your blog as it is an enjoyable and often thought provoking read. I am wondering how you are feeling now after your bout with what appeared to be the Covid virus? Are you experiencing any of the lingering side effects we have heard about ? Our media are calling some patients “long-haulers” and they have reported some unusual and far-ranging symptoms. You are looking very well in your photos and I hope you are feeling that way too.
    Kind regards,
    Susan M.

    1. I cough a lot in the mornings and feel congested. The battle with insomnia and emotional issues continue. I become exhausted easily, search for words, and experience bouts of depression and anxiety, but I keep reminding myself that these are the effects of the virus and not “real.”

      1. Here’s hoping those lingering repercussions fade away soon. Many thanks for sharing your experience with this virus. We hear the statistics but possibly don’t fully understand what suffering it has bestowed on so many. Your blog, and the many comments from your readers who also had experience with this pandemic, brought it home to me.
        Thank you again,
        Susan M.

  36. Even in this horrible pandemic, I have much to be thankful for and I don’t want to take anything for granted but, on a personal level, I am thankful that I discovered your blog and treasure the suggestions that have made my 60s far more put together and fashionable than they would have been otherwise. Happy Thanksgiving!

  37. Happy Thanksgiving! I am grateful for Zoom. I know that sounds silly since it’s how I’ve been working since March. But it is also the way my family wl be able to safely gather this year. So, for as annoying it can be, I’m grateful for technology that let’s us stay in touch.

  38. I’m grateful for my friends and family. This year we haven’t been able to see each other in person like we would’ve liked but I’m so grateful for the phone calls that kept us in touch with one another! This has been a difficult year on so many levels but it has shown me how much we depend on one another and how grateful I am to have these amazing people in my life!

  39. Grateful for Susan’s blog! while that can sound almost silly given the magnitude of the current suffering- you realize that it’s always the little things that remind us of the importance of connection.

  40. I’m grateful that both my husband and myself are (so far) healthy and still employed

I’m grateful to you for all of the time and effort you put into helping us all look and feel better

  44. I am grateful for my daughter who lives 9 hours away and has 4 children and a busy life but reaches out to me often to tell me everything that is happening with her and her family. It’s been almost a year since we were able to be together but we are closer than we have ever been. We have always seen each other several times a year but this year of course has been different. We have made sure to text, call and FaceTime a lot more so will be together at Thanksgiving virtually. It is easy to get caught into seeing only the negative in life. This year has taught me to consciously focus on the positive. When you do, you will see so much more.

  45. I am grateful for my family especially since we can’t be together this year. Thank you Susan for your smile and positive attitude – you are such an inspiration!

  49. I have many things to be grateful for as we approach Thanksgiving and 2021. At the top of my list is that my sweet husband is doing so well. In July, he suffered a TIA (mini stroke). Subsequent testing indicated a small brain aneurysm. It appears that all the things associated with the TIA have resolved. I must also say I am so grateful for the medical care he received during a pandemic.

  69. I am most grateful for a loving and caring Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! I am blessed beyond words with not wealth but friendships and loving relationships. And since I have same hair and skin coloring as you, I can replicate this exact outfit by shopping my closet, but I NEED that necklace to finish it out! 🙂 I’m also very thankful that I found your blog a few years ago and have learned much from your wealth of knowledge on many topics.

  70. I am thankful for this great country, our freedom, and especially those great hero’,s who have given us this freedom. May God bless our country and help us work for peace and love.

  71. I so look forward to T/Th when I can enjoy this space with my morning tea! Even the comments are a good read.

Have you already devoted a blog post to tips for accessorizing with different styles of necklaces? I’m thinking chunky vs delicate. Pendants, lariats, chokers! Gold tone vs silver tone. Storing, organizing and caring for jewelry. When and how to mix and match. Body type, occasion, etc

Thankful for this space you have created, Susan!

  77. Great look! Jeans, a tank, and a cardigan or blazer is my go to look.

I am thankful that my family is healthy and happy, particularly so this year. Hope the same for you and yours.

  78. I am so Thankful for new friends since we moved. Yet, ever Thankful for “the ones I left behind” who still reach out and touch my life. Friends are forever; they come and go, but always change your life.

  79. Seeing the three graces on this necklace reminded of the lovely women in my life who have taught me the meaning of beauty, charm and grace! I am thankful for these women who are also my best friends, Betsy, Leesa and Nancy. 84. Good Morning Susan, I am thankful for all the usual things a warm home, clothes and food on the table. That my family are healthy and safe. I am also thankful that when helping with a local food drive so many people were very generous and we collected over 43,000 pounds of food! It shows that when we all come together great things can be accomplished during these trying times.

  85. I am most grateful for my family and the extra time we are able to spend together has been a blessing. Both my single sons are working from home during the pandemic and have been able to stay with us for a week at a time so we have had extended visits. This year has been challenging for everyone and our family has had some additional stresses so at times it’s been hard to stay positive. Regardless of all we have to be thankful for ASAP (Always Say A Prayer) for health, our country, a successful vaccine…

  86. First let me say I love reading your blogs.

I am grateful for many things, but particularly my health.

At my age, it is sometimes frustrating to find classy and not too “senior like” apparel to wear. You always provide great options. I am grateful for your classy approach to fashion. I am also grateful for your approach to life. Thank you Susan – keep bloggin because we are reading.

  87. I enjoy your blog, your positive attitude and have learned to simplify my style and clothing, feel more comfortable and put together.

  88. During this trying time with the covid and pandemic stress, I am thankful to give up negative thoughts and think positively as this too shall pass. Reading your blog certainly helps relieve the stress of daily challenges and gives me and possibly others a chance to breathe (without a mask) and enjoy a positive read. Albeit as being informed of fashion styles and accessories along with delightful pictures you so generously share with us. One bright point in my day to tune in to a positive and rewarding reading when I “tune in” to your blog which brings to mind the song, “For He (she) is a jolly good fellow.” I think we all are thankful for your positive and encouraging advice throughout the year for you definitely are a jolly gal with a smile that lights up our days.

    Wishing you many blessings,
    Mae

  101. Thank you Susan for continuing your blog. The fashion advice has been incredibly helpful and a welcome distraction during trying times. After suffering through COVID I am more thankful than ever for my health this holiday season.

  102. I am grateful to my husband and that we both have our health. I am also grateful to my two sons, daughter-in-laws, and my grandchildren.

  103. Grateful that I have friends and family with whom I can respectfully disagree. We all agree that our relationship is more important than our opinions. Therefore, our Thanksgiving will be focused on our many blessings. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

  104. Good morning, My family is healthy, having so far avoided the virus. We have made sacrifices to stay safe, but we are well. There is nothing more important than that, and I’m so thankful for this blessing.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.

  105. I am grateful for the time that the pandemic has afforded me… time to nest, time to appreciate my life: our home, yard, routines…, time to read, to cook, to bake, to appreciate music… to just BE, not always to be DOING….

  106. I am most grateful for my family, who gives me so much comfort and joy during these trying times. Love your blog, Susan!

  107. Happy Thanksgiving to my southern neighbours from Canada! Grateful for social media to keep in contact with my three children’s families in this time of no travelling internationally. Can’t wait to visit everyone again, just not sure when that will be..

  108. Thank you for this giveaway; what beautiful jewelry! I am so very thankful for my family and our good health (fingers crossed.) Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

  109. I am grateful everyday that I can work …so many are struggling. I am grateful for those that are working so hard to find a vaccine to prevent COVID and I pray this virus is soon a thing of the past and we can get back to somewhat of a normal life.

  110. I am thankful for this blog and for all the wonderful information you continue to provide ! You are a true blessing!

  111. I am more than grateful this year to God for our continued good health. My husband and I were recently both diagnosed with Covid and are recuperating in the comfort of our home, thank God. It’s been a wild road to say the least but we will get better and live to talk about this time in our lives. We’ve had friends that have succumbed to this terrible virus so we don’t take anything for granted. I am grateful that God is watching over all of us. If I didn’t have my faith, I would truly be lost so I thank God each and everyday for everything that happens. He gives me hope and strength through it all.

We’ve been isolated from our family for at lest 3 weeks now and look forward to the day when we can physically be together. I’m grateful for their continued love and support and also for our friends that continue to reach out and offer their help. So much to be grateful for this year……

  112. Thank you for all you do Susan and Happy Thanksgiving! I am grateful for many things but the most special of all is the love of all my family and friends. They are the rocks of my life! I am grateful, thankful & blessed to have them.

  114. Thank you for continuing to blog – you provide a great destination! I am grateful that my family is safe and healthy and I am very grateful that with life slowing down I have enjoyed the slower pace, simpler pleasures and time well spent.

  115. Susan, I have learned so much from your advice over the last few years….at least 3 that I have been following you. I am now 74 years old and feel I have improved my wardrobe and my style through your guidance, including purchasing several items you have recommended. Thank you for continuing on ….your emails are definitely something to look forward to.

  116. I am very grateful to my daughter, son-in-law, and grandsons for welcoming us into their home for the last six months. We sold our house and are building a smaller one. Problems with construction, laborers, you name it. We thought we would be in our new home by now, but no it will probably be March 2021. They have been so welcoming and kind. We will be forever grateful.

  117. Gratitude and thankfulness dwell in abundance this year. In the midst of a pandemic I have found a place of refuge in the home I share with my husband. I’m grateful for his love and caring during all of this. I’ve been dealing with some cardiac issues that have required some lifestyle adjustments and so appreciate the lovely example of living a healthy life that you display on your blog Susan. Wishing you and your loved ones a happy Thanksgiving.

  118. You look fabulous in this outfit – tall and lean. I’m going to duplicate this look for me! Thanks for blogging – I look forward to every post. The necklace is gorgeous, so unique.

  119. Like the old Johnny Appleseed grace song we learned as children “For health and strength and daily bread” This has been a stressful year but when I’m frustrated I remember that others are having a much harder time than I am and that helps preserve an attitude of gratitude. This is an awesome giveaway; thank-you Susan and Suzanne!

  126. I am grateful for my husband, my dog & my wonderful family & friends. I am grateful for apps like Zoom that allow us to stay in touch during the pandemic. I am grateful for healthful food & good doctors. I am grateful for our new house in the mountains, even if it needs a lot of work. And I am grateful for folks like you who keep inspiring me to be my best, even though it would be easier to just sit on the sofa in my pjs!

  127. Dear Susan,
What a great topic today. I love a good pair of jeans and a white shirt, either a t or for me often i prefer a button up long sleeve shirt. I can style this a million ways and always feel put together. That necklace is also gorgeous, I’d love to win that. I’m grateful for my health and my wonderful family, and even my home office this Thanksgiving. I’ve been working from home for over 9 months now, so my beautiful home office/craft studio (hahaha) investment in organization and beautiful details has really paid off. I’m glad i finished this over 2 years ago. I feel happy and joyful in this space, it’s a good thing because my company just informed us that we’ll be working from home through April 30th. Oh COVID, you just keep throwing us some curve balls. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your readers Susan! Kind Regards, Amy

  144. Susan, I rarely comment but your blog is something I look forward to on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I understand that you have to have a life and therefore, reduced the number of posts. I miss the third day of your blogs. You are a ray of sunshine, optimism, as well as fashion inspiration. Thank you for all you do. Please don’t ever worry about your followers losing interest!

I am grateful for good health, for family and friends, for the freedoms of this country, for beautiful clothes, for a warm home, and plenty to eat. I am also grateful for women who take time to share what they’ve learned in so many areas of life to inspire other women to be their best selves.

  145. Hi Susan. I am very grateful for my husband of 57 years. He is the best husband, father and grandfather there ever was. We (myself, my sons and grandkids ) know he has and will have our back . He is our ROCK!

  146. I’m grateful I can work from home. My husband is high risk for COVID so being allowed to do my job at home enables me to take extra steps to keep him safe.

  147. Hi Susan – what a beautiful necklace. It reminds me of vintage pieces a local artist here in Oxford, OH makes – you would enjoy them – Karen Lindner karenlindnerdesigns.com. Check it out! I am thankful to have retired this year, even in the midst of the pandemic. I not only have a loving family, I also have a budding consulting business both of which I am very thankful for!! Happy Thanksgiving to you and Mr. Mickey

  148. I am grateful for my young(er) neighbors, who help me out when needed, provide me with a way to get my “baby fix” by letting me rock their infants, and welcome my company at our occasional socially-distanced gatherings to enjoy drinks and conversation around a fire pit.

  149. So thankful for continued good health in the midst of this pandemic. Trying to be careful but not fearful! Grateful for all your posts! They’re so helpful…pushing 70 but still desire to be stylish while also being comfortable. Thank you and happy thanksgiving!

  150. I am grateful for 60 years with my beautiful mum in my life.
I am grateful I had the honour of holding her hand, being by her side, just the two of us….when she passed a month ago.
I am even more grateful for every precious moment I now have with my 93 year old dad, as we both learn to live each day without the loving wife & mother she was.
I am grateful, more then ever. we live in a country like Australia.
I am grateful for the sun on the ocean, the moon in the night sky, the sounds of birds, the trees, a new flower and a white butterfly that now visits me daily.
I am grateful for now understanding what is truly important in life.

  151. I am very grateful for the place where my husband and I live – a street with wonderful neighbors and all the beautiful coastal gifts of nature nearby. Sunshine, waters full of ocean creatures, wild horses and gorgeous sunsets.

  152. I am thankful for you, Susan! I enjoy your blogs and look forward to them on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and it’s lovely to see glimpses of a different area of our beautiful country. 153. I am grateful for you and your blog and so grateful you continued entertaining, teaching, and inspiring us during this crazy year.

  154. Susan, I’m grateful I looked at your blogs about handbags. I was going to make an expensive mistake choosing the wrong size and color.

  155. I’m grateful my family is safe this Thanksgiving. We won’t be together physically, but that won’t keep us from celebrating our blessings, which are many. Life isn’t perfect, but there are many others who are far less fortunate and I never forget that.

  156. Susan, you have an unwavering commitment to your readers and it is much appreciated! I wish for everyone a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!

  157. Happy Thanksgiving, a time Americans often reflect on what they are thankful or grateful for. I have many blessings, too numerous to share. However, I am grateful for CNAs who often times are overlooked by led in the medical field. These professionals often do the work that is less desirable but so needed in patient care. I thank them for their dedication.
Thank you for a beautiful design, Suzanne, and thank you Susan for the offer of a versatile necklace.

  158. This year I am SO thankful that my wonderful husband survived a BIG heart attack this year. While he was healthy, no signs, ate well, exercised – genetics took over and bam. I am grateful he is here with me, grateful to the EMT, ambulance, nurses, doctors, therapists, friends and family who supported us and loved us. THANKFUL does not begin to describe how I feel…thankful and blessed.
Wishing you and your loved ones a wonderful Thanksgiving!

  161. I am very grateful for the worldwide connections the internet has made possible. Its bern a real pleasure to read your blog as it’s been a source of one of these connections. It’s a blog about reality and not overly filtered and sensationalized and a breath of fresh air and inspiration to keep on ‘keeping on’ no matter what’s going on out there. A great service to us ladies over 50 and I’m grateful to you for it Susan! Happy Thanksgiving!

  162. I’m very thankful that my breast biopsy came back not cancerous. This year our health is the most important gift. I would love to win the necklace , this has been a terrible month in a trying year. God Bless.

  165. I am grateful for family and friends. I am also grateful for the technology that allows you to share your expertise. Thank you and have a blessed Thanksgiving.

  166. I am thankful for salvation through Jesus Christ. Thank you for not giving up your blog. It has been a balm to me through these difficult times as well.

  171. Susan,
I haven’t followed you very long, maybe a year, but I look forward to each blog that you do. Thank you for all that you do! Happy Holidays to you and Mr. Mickey!

  175. I’m thankful to be in the US a few weeks and get to spend Christmas with my kids and grands on the 25th for the first time in 15 years!

  176. With the risk of sounding “gratuitous “ I am grateful for you and the virtual experiences you have provided me this year. I discovered your blog when I was on leave from work, in the early stages of the pandemic. We share a similar body type, the inverted triangle, and I have ordered 3 pairs of jeans (Talbots & NYDJ), 2 shirts (Talbots), a purse (Francesca’s) and the Popcorn Women’s Jacket from your friend at Covered Perfectly. In addition, I have used your style recommendations while shopping at my favorites TJMaxx and Marshall’s. I worked for ten years at an International Airline and for the past 30 years at a specialty grocery store that has grown from 38 stores when I started to over 500 nationwide. Sadly, the closest one to you is in North Carolina. I share your love of food and travel and your travels with Mr. Mickey are some of my favorite posts. Thank you for sharing your little piece of paradise. (We have friends that recently moved to Knoxville and I was so excited about your adventures that I shared your blog with Debra and I plan on sending her the Popcorn Jacket!). I was especially pleased to see your support of women in your post of the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage. It cannot be easy to create such a beautiful and informative blog during this time of limitations. What better time for me to send you my heartfelt thank you to you and your circle of support. Happy Thanksgiving! P.S. I hope you share photos of your lovely home decorated for the Winter Holidays.

  177. I am grateful to have positive, creative blogs (like yours) to read and inspire me. Especially, while spending so much time at home lately. Thank you!

  178. I am thankful that my departed mother was a Christian, that she taught her children to love God and lived her beliefs every day for all to see. I am thankful she was my mom.

  179. Opening my eyes and heart to the little acts of kindness is what I am grateful for. I’m grateful for a stranger’s cheerful hello as I walk my dog, the young teen that held the door for me when I was juggling a dripping umbrella and a large bag of groceries, and my 92 year old mother’s kind neighbors that watch our for her.

    Happy Thanksgiving Susan!

  180. I am grateful for this beautiful place I live and whom I share it with. Thank you for continuing to encourage positivity through your blogging!

  181. I’m grateful for my two little granddaughters. They are constant reminders to appreciate the unexpected little things in life. For instance, shaking the low branch of our fruit tree just to watch the yellow-gold leaves swirl and fall was such a thrill. I always look forward to your posts, Susan. Thank you!

  182. I am very thankful for my family…and that they are healthy and happy!
Thank you, Susan, for sharing yourself with us through your wonderful blog. I look forward to each new installment! You are an inspiration to us all! Blessings to you for a Thanksgiving season filled with love.

    Sincerely,
    Mary Preston

  186. I am grateful for this time during COVID to spend with my single adult daughter who moved home in April until the Virus is under control. 194. Hello Susan. I’m grateful for many things. My husband of 48 years even though he now has dementia and a son & daughter in law who said they will be there for us. Also for you/your blog. 195. I’m grateful for my husband of 49 years. Well, on Thursday it will be forty-nine years. He had lung cancer in 2016, so every day he’s still with me is a day of thankfulness.

Have a great Thanksgiving everyone! Stay safe and stay healthy.

  196. Thankful for a year that has caused me to slow down and spend more time with family. Refocusing on what’s truly important.

  197. I am thankful for your blog ! I love reading the reasons behind how you’ve styled an outfit, and I enjoy your beautiful pictures. It’s the next best thing to traveling as I feel I am experiencing travel through your trips.

  198. I’m grateful that my friends and family understand how important it is to keep staying safe, wearing masks and staying home!

  199. I am grateful for all animals, especially those pets who have comforted us and been our companions during difficult times.

  200. I am thankful for all our first responders, doctors and nurses that help us each day. They are really the superheroes.

  201. What a beautiful necklace. I’m thankful that you keep inspiring women over 60 that we should try new things, Clothing, make-up, jewelry, travel and to not be afraid to try. To take care of ourselves, eat good food. Just because we are in our 60’s doesn’t mean it’s all over. Just reinvent and find your comfort level.
    Thank You Susan!
    Leann

  202. Hi Susan,
I am grateful to have wonderful people in my life: family, friends, and bloggers who give me a glimpse into a world outside of my own. Expand my horizons, let me see products I wouldn’t be aware of, encourage my better instincts! And in this day and age, I am simply grateful for life itself for me and my family. Stay safe, and Happy Thanksgiving to you and Yours.
    Holly

  203. Wow! I’m always stunned how many people comment when you are giving a gift! At the moment, I’m grateful my sweet mom has been released from the horrible dementia she suffered from for 4 years. We buried her on a beautiful day to send her off to heaven.
Thank you Susan for your constant inspiration!

  204. Love the necklace! I have many things to be grateful for: my husband of 47 years, we have been there for each other through the good and bad; my sister who has a heart of gold, love her much. Greatful for all the healthcare professionals who never get enough thanks, pay or credit.

I am grateful I find your blog. You always give me such positive feelings. I have changed my lifestyle thanks to you.

  208. Wow, during this time of uncertainty for us all it’s so comforting to read all the wonderful comments above. We do have a lot to be grateful for. Hopefully this realization will stay with us. Thanks for the opportunity to say out loud what we should be doing everyday!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.

  210. I am grateful that we are nearing the end of the Hurricane Season. So many people in our state, Louisiana, have lost so much and many are working hard to get back on their feet. I enjoy your comments and bits of advice.

  211. After losing my only sister earlier this year I am grateful for my niece. She and I have gotten so close and I cherish her in my life. She’s the only family I have left.

  212. I am so thankful for my husband of 45 years. He has proved to me that he takes his vows seriously. He has literally kept me alive for two years after a “simple” surgery turned into four and possibly another. I love him with all my heart. I’m also grateful for my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I’ve started a list of things to do when I’m able. One of those is to volunteer at Resources for Women, an abortion-alternative center here in Daytona Beach. If I can save one baby I’ll be blessed but hope more will be either kept by the mother or adopted by a loving family. On another note, one lady commented she was proud to live in a democracy. We don’t. Our founding fathers set us up to be a republic. Happy Thanksgiving to you and Mr. Mickey.

  213. I am very grateful for my family and friends during these uncertain times and hope we can all get to better times ahead. I wish health, happiness and peace for you this Thanksgiving.

  214. I’m thankful for my loving husband who has been with me through this trying year. We have made lemonade out of lemons during these COVID months. It will be just him and me for Thanksgiving dinner, but I’m thankful for technology that allows us to “see” our family.

  215. Besides being grateful for my family and all the awesome people I work with, I’m grateful for your advice, Susan! I’ve tried numerous things you’ve suggested and have been happy with them!
I’m also so glad you came through your COVID episode successfully!
We need blogs like yours to remind us that life WILL get back to normal!
    Happy Thanksgiving!!!

  216. I’m grateful to be recovering from Covid-19 without additional health issues.

Family from out of town will go to a condo on the Beach and food supplied to them without contact with the sick.

  217. I am grateful for good health and adult children who run errands, etc. so my husband and I don’t have to go out and subject ourselves to possible contamination.

  218. I am so grateful for my husband Ian. In these trying times there is a closer togetherness as we have to rely on each other so much more.

  219. I am amazingly grateful that I safely moved from Tennessee to California so that I could live near my sons. I have not gotten to live close to them in 10 years and we are so happy and thankful to be together. Happy Thanksgiving, Susan!

  220. I am so very incredibly grateful to all of our healthcare workers, our first responders, and all the selfless heroes who are helping us get through this extraordinary year.

  221. A sense of gratitude gives everything in life more meaning and purpose. Gratitude is a perspective, a mind shift towards appreciation of life and living it purposefully. Thank you from gracing these pages. Wishing you, your family and readers a healthy and gratitude-filled Thanksgiving.

  222. I am sincerely grateful for your dedication to showing us more beautiful and better ways to look nice. After a certain age it’s a real challenge had you give us hope snd information that we can all look our best !! Thank you ♥️

  223. I NEED this gorgeous piece! What a stunner. But Susan, you are the source of the balm for all our wounded souls. The continuity offered by your blog posts continues to be a source of comfort.

  224. I am thankful for God’s wonderful blessings: husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. I am abundantly blessed.

  225. Susan – You are as beautiful as ever and I can’t wait to read your blogs when they pop up in my inbox! Always great content and the photography is wonderful.
This year has given me so much to be thankful for! But the biggest blessing I received this year was straight from the heavens when I was without a job for 5 months and then God opened the perfect door for me! I have a new job, which provides the benefits me and my family need to stay healthy during these crazy times and it’s something I truly enjoy! God is Good!
Retail therapy has been in short supply this year so when I comment and think about the possibility of winning this fabulous necklace, it definitely makes me smile!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and Mr. Mickey! …..Clarisse

  226. As a world-wide traveller, I am thankful for the many things we take for granted: plentiful clean water in my home, a climate-controlled home, enough income to take care of myself, my health, a background of caring parents who raised me with Christian values, a work ethic, and love, a supportive, loving husband, family and many friends.

  227. I am so grateful for my two healthy boys. They will not be home for the holidays but we faceTime all the time. They have grown up to be kind, considerate young men and after every conversation we have they tell us they love us.

  228. I am grateful I got to the hospital in time to save my kidneys from lasting damage. I was so tired and lethargic I didn’t care but now I am happy I was forced to do what was necessary. I could have ended up requiring dialysis. Thank God my family insisted I get the help I needed.

  229. Susan,
I am so grateful for family and friends and, most importantly, my health. I realize how much I have taken it for granted and have been making changes, one day at a time.
Blessings to you and Mr. Mickey for a wonderful Thanksgiving Day.

  230. I am grateful to have love and kindness in my life. I stand on the shoulders of others who have extended this to me. My hope is that many can stand on my shoulders too.

  231. Susan, your messages are always a bright spot I look forward to. If you find joy in the time & effort you invest, I hope we can all continue ‘encouraging you to keep blogging!’

I’m grateful for my caring, humorous & artistic husband, along with my heroic sister who changed careers at age 50 to become a nurse, a brave choice in today’s communities. Happy Thanksgiving wishes to you & Mr. Mickie. So glad you are healthy & vibrant today, Susan.

  232. My gratitude list gets longer every Thanksgiving as each year I recognize the blessings that have come my way over time- mostly small and insignificant when seen in print but monumental in my daily life.

Whomever wins the lovely necklace will be thankful for sure!

  233. Susan, I am thankful for all of the many things I haven’t thanked God for and one of those is for you sharing your life with us. You make my day on Tuesday and Thursday and I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

    MaryAnn

  234. Thank you for your blog. It is my favorite because you show styles that look good on your body…and encourage us to do so also.

I lost my father in September. I am trying to stay positive and “count my blessings, one by one” this holiday season. I am thankful for my health, my husband, my son, my mother and my friends.

    Blessings to you.

  235. I am grateful for my grandchildren. Thinking of them reminds me why I need to be careful and patient during this pandemic.

  236. Honestly Susan I am grateful to YOU for letting me look forward to your blogs each week. You inspire me as a women in my sixties as well. I love your ideas and wisdom you share. Thankyou from the bottom of my heart!

  237. Every night, when I go to bed, I think of all the things I am grateful for that particular day. I find myself grateful over and again that I have a happy home.

  238. I am grateful for friends this season; I lost my husband four months ago and friends are helping me be grateful.

  239. I am grateful for my younger sister who died in January this year. Her friendship, faith and strength are a constant source of encouragement to me and I thank God that she died surrounded by her family who loved her so much. I miss her so much, but i know that I’ll see her again in heaven with Jesus. I guess I’m trying to be thankful for the hard things.

  240. I am grateful for my wonderful husband, sons, daughters-in-law and two beautiful grandchildren! I am grateful that we have all been healthy and Covid free

  241. Of course, I am grateful for my health and my family. I am also grateful to be retired and to have the option every day to engage in activities I love. Happy Thanksgiving!

  242. Grateful for our Lord, family and dear friends! I’ve achieved a wt loss goal and has taken a year but I’ve learned new and improved eating habits. Looking at your blog has inspired me and help me along the way. As getting older at 66 yrs it’s never too late to improve oneself! I love this necklace and I’d be so proud and excited to wear! Keep sending those interesting pictures of your adventures !

  243. I am most thankful for my family. My mom had a stroke, heart attack and double saddle block pulmonary event almost 2 years ago and we thought we would lose her or at the least, it would be a very long road to recovery. You would never know that she had these problems she has done so well. Two days prior to that, I had a total knee replacement and was completely unable to help with her care once she got home. My husband pitched in without any questions and took care of both of us very well. I am so grateful that he is able and willing to be my ‘nurse’ when I need him. I had a staph infection in my right eye after cataract surgery and had emergency eye surgery on March 2 this year and again, my husband has taken care of me and taken me to appointments even during this pandemic year. We have a small family (I am an only child and my father passed 23 years ago) but very close.

  244. My husband passed away in September, not from COVID, but I am so thankful that his daughter and I got to spend some time with him in the hospital. I can’t imagine how those families are coping who have not been able to be with their loved ones and get the terrible news they’re gone.

  245. I am grateful for my many blessings which are too numerous to count. I’m also grateful for the internet so I can keep up with so many friends, past and present. Thank you for the chance to win the beautiful necklace. Happy Thanksgiving, Susan.

  246. I am thankful for having hope for our democracy and health in the coming year. Also for all the simple pleasures of life. Thanks Susan for continuing to connect to all of us through your blog. It’s definitely something to look forward to. Happy Thanksgiving!

  247. I’m grateful for good health following a double mastectomy and two melanomas on my – face! At 84 I don’t look great – but I feel great. Along with my husband’s successful major surgery, we are blessed!

  248. I am grateful for so many things: friends and family, food, shelter, a job that lets me work from home during these uncertain times

  249. I am grateful for my family. My mother is still with us…92 years young! I am grateful for my husband, children and daughter in law. I am especially grateful for all the joy and love I have for my two little grandsons. One is 3 years old and the other 2 months old. They fill my heart with so much love that I feel as if my heart can burst! This has been an unbelievable year but I feel that I can face everything and anything with the people that I love.

  250. Hello Susan, I am thankful that my husband and I have been able to retire to Myrtle Beach, SC into a lovely home that we will be able to age in. Happy Thanksgiving to you and Mr. Mickey!

    Connie Challingsworth

  251. I am grateful for the life, the image of God our Savior, obedience, prayer, God’s word, being a child of God, my fellow Christians, freedom to worship, living and walking in truth, the forgiveness of my sins, knowing Christ is in charge, and hope for eternal life.

  252. I am thankful for my family, friends and good health. I have been enjoying your daily emails for a long time. I think we are about the same size and I like classic clothing, too. But I always struggle and think I don’t look quite right. I keep buying things that are ok, but I don’t love. Anyway, thank you for your inspiration and I enjoy your adventures.

  253. This outfit you’re wearing today is one of my favorite go to looks. It’s a classic. Thank you for the opportunity to be in the contest for the necklace in the color you posted here.

  254. I’m grateful that you have continued to blog. During these times I have needed to get dressed up even when I wasn’t going anywhere. It just makes me feel better. I was thankful to see that I wasn’t alone.

  255. Beautiful necklace and loved that you showed two ways to wear it. Today I am thankful to have my sisters up in Michigan who can take care of our mother. Unfortunately, no one can see her in person because the hospital is on Covid lockdown. Not sure if she’s gonna make it but I’m glad my sisters are close. Whole family is thankful that we’ve had her as long as we have. At 92, this downturn happened quite quickly and was probably pushed along by the Covid restrictions which are so hard for folks in assisted living centers.

  256. I am so thankful for great bloggers like you, who motivate us all to look our best.
The most fun is how you show me how/why/how much to accessorize. Many thanks and
    Happy Thanksgiving!

  257. I’m grateful beyond any words I can express to my sister, Barbara, for being my sole support system through the death of my only child, my divorce, my breast cancer fight and now to add insult to injury some crazy, rare, autoimmune disease (Sharp’s Syndrome) that appeared out of nowhere at age 64. I have NO idea what I would do without her, and I have tears welling up as I write this. She is all the family I have left and without her my life would be unbearable. So, if you read this comment, please be grateful this holiday season if you have your family and your health. Nothing else on earth matters as much as those 2 gifts for they truly are the most valuable of all our possessions!

  258. I am grateful for my parents and the example they led. Both have passed away, but I am reminded daily of their unconditional love and wisdom. This time of year is all the more special as they were married on Thanksgiving day, 1946.

  259. I am grateful for many things. One of these is your blog which I have been following for several years. I have purchased several scarfs and have learned so much. Keep blogging. Have a great Thanksgiving!

  260. I am grateful that my family has become closer during the COVID-19 Pandemic. I have 3 adult children and we used to go days without communication – taking for granted that we could catch up any time. When things slowed down, we found ourselves seeking each other out to chat on the phone and to facetime, including conference call style with all of us. It’s shown my two-year-old granddaughter how close we really are. And it warms this mother’s heart to be so included in their lives. I’m grateful!

  261. I am grateful for my wonderful husband. he has been such a trooper during the pandemic, as well as normal times. He is my rock and really does keep me steady. Also grateful for my friends, near and far. They help me to laugh or hang with me when i need to cry. I just couldn’t do without them! Also many thanks to those like yourself, that keep showing us the way to look better and feel better while we are doing it. My hat is off to you! Happy Thanksgiving! MJ

  262. I am grateful for so many things but most of all the unconditional love of our family and the humor and wit of my three grandsons! And come to think of it, I am grateful for Susan for giving me the tip about Shapeez! I love them!

  263. I am eternally grateful for my family = those with us and those who have passed. My wonderful parents and grands shaped the woman I am. And my husband and children have reaped that benefit. I am grateful to be living in this country which has given me and mine so very much. HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL OF YOU!

  264. Hi Susan,
Happy Thanksgiving to you,Mr Mickey & your family.
This has certainly been a trying & unusual year for all of us.
My husband was in the hospital for 3 days last week. I had to call 911
because it looked like he was having a stroke. They did multiple tests and thankfully all the serious tests came back negative. It was vertigo, a very severe episode.
I am very thankful that it can be treated & he is home for Thanksgiving. We will be home alone. All of our
    family lives out of state.
Please keep your blog going. I read and enjoy it every day. It is very well done.
    Sincerely,
    Carol

  265. Susan ~ I have been a long time follower, so long in fact that I believe I’ve read every post you’ve written! It’s been a pleasure to watch you define and perfect your style allowing us to grow along with you. In this post you ask for us to state something for which we are grateful. This year in particular it would be very easy to feel overcome with negativity, so thank you for encouraging us to think instead of the good in our lives. I believe this year I’m most grateful that no one in my immediate circle of family or friends has contracted the virus. I’m praying that with multiple vaccines soon to be available. the end of this pandemic is in sight.

  266. I am thankful that we will be getting a vaccine for Covid very soon. I am an at risk person with chronic lung disease. My daughter is a medical worker and I worry about her and her family all the time.
Thank you for your blog, Susan, I have always worn basics and I am so happy to have you to show all the possibilities.
    Thank you,
    Rosalie Kelley

  267. I am thankful that a COVAID vaccine will soon be available. And I am thankful that you have continued to blog. I enjoy your blog very much and so happy that all the outfits you show are not new.

  268. I am grateful for all the experiences in my life. I feel blessed because I’ve experience love all around. I am today grateful for exactly the same thing and for being able to return this love as well.

  269. I am grateful for all the experiences in my life. I feel so rich because of them and feel blessed everyday! Happy Thanksgiving Susan and this wonderful group of people you communicate with.

  270. I am thankful for my sweet family. Although we are separated by miles, I cherish any time I get to be with them, either in person or by FaceTime. Be encouraged, dear Susan, keep on blogging! Your insights lift us all!!

  271. I am thankful for all of my blessings, especially my health. I am also thankful for you and your blog. Thank you for always knowing just what we need. It’s like a mini visit with you. Hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving!

  272. At ages 72 and 80 I’m grateful that I and my husband are in excellent health with no major health issues. We work out everyday. 3 days a week we lift weight and engage in aerobic exercise.

  273. I’m thankful for you, Susan. You bring beauty and style into my life. You remind me to care about how I look even though I don’t leave the house these days. You remind me to wear and surround myself with things that give me pleasure.
    Bless you and Happy Thanksgiving

  274. I’m thankful for my good health and that my family, kids and grandkids, have remained healthy during this pandemic.

  275. I am grateful for your blog. In fact I’ve been meaning to leave a comment telling you that and also I hope you don’t retire the blog anytime soon. I was reading other fashion blogs and have recently unsubscrubed from all of them except yours. I love your style and the fashion tips you share. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Cyndy Lennon.

  276. Thank you, Susan for sharing your fashion knowledge with us. This year I am especially grateful for my health and the live of family.

  277. In these uncertain times I am so very grateful for my family, a safe home to shelter in, enough food to eat, a higher power to pray to and special friends, whether they be in the flesh or “virtual” friends that I’ve made on social media or lovely blogs like this!

  278. Grateful for my dear husband who has been there for me as I’ve dealt with health issues this year and last.

  279. Hi Susan,
During these many months of COVID isolation, I am grateful for access to the technologies that have allowed me to continue mentoring small businesses as well as to stay in touch with family and friends. Zoom and Facetime are not necessarily optimal tools for human communication, but have been so helpful! I can only imagine the isolation most of us would have experienced had this pandemic happened even 20 years ago!
And thank you for your many informative and cheerful posts throughout this year! I have lived vicariously through your restaurant trips and food photos, and lovely drives through the mountains!
    Take care,
    Mary

  280. I am grateful that as an adult I came to know and embrace the wisdom & teachings of Jesus Christ. It has become my GPS for life and gives me hope!

  281. I am grateful for modern communication systems that allow us to “see” our loved ones far and wide–even in the craziest of times.

  282. In these trying times, I’m grateful for the internet. It’s not the same as seeing friends & family in person, but seeing them on video is better than nothing.

  283. I am thankful for God’s gift of creativity and for you helping each woman to use that gift to be her best!

  284. During this time of isolation, I am grateful for your posts… maintaining contact with friends and looking forward to a world of travel and engagements once again. Thank you!

  285. I am grateful to live in an era of social media during this pandemic….This allows me to hear from friends and family while sheltering in place, to enjoy music on-line, and to keep up via blogs like yours! Thanks you and Happy Thanksgiving!

  286. Each day when I take my morning power walk, I am always trying to count my blessings as I do my steps .. good thing I have a watch that counts for me. But today I added another to my list of many . Technology – for allowing us to stay closely connected with friends and family regardless of distance. . it is more important than ever. .. .
Happy Thanksgiving blessings to you and Mr. Mickey and those you love. .

  287. My every prayer begins with thanking God for helping my husband deal with a progressive, degenerative disease and asking for continuing help. He is still active, relatively speaking, and for that I am most grateful.

  288. I am grateful for your weekly posts and very grateful for your vulnerability in sharing your life with us, your blog “sisters”! Thanksgiving blessings to you, Mr. Mickey, and your families.

  289. I am thankful for good health and having a wonderful loving family. So glad I found your blog! I have learned a lot from you. Hope you have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving

  290. I have been following you on Facebook for several years and enjoy your style so much. I lived in Kingsport from 1997 – 2004 so I also enjoy seeing your photos from the area. Most beautiful place on earth! I am especially thankful that I have recently moved to Evans, GA where my daughter and her family live and so thankful for my health during this time. Would love to be the recipient of this beautiful necklace!

  291. I am grateful that I have a best friend and that God is in my life. And I would be grateful if that necklace was mine to wear.

  292. I am grateful to you for sharing your years of knowledge on styling clothes. I look forward to opening each of your posts because I always come away with fresh ideas to restyle my basics that I love. Thank you so much and have a Happy Thanksgiving!

  295. I am thankful for women like you who encourage and support the over 60 females to never give in to looking “frumpy”. I wanted to give up looking my best, thinking my mask would hide EVERYTHING!!! You have shown us how to look classy in a tee and jeans when the thought of “getting dressed” was not appealing! People don’t just look at a mask—they take in your total appearance.

Thank you for keeping us stylish.

    Sally Dennett

  296. Hello – I love the jacket you wore in the blog post titled A Special Giveaway but the link is broken – can you please send the link?
    Thank you

  297. Thank you for continuing your blog during these days of the pandemic.
Your advice on dressing kept me from lounging around in sweats and t shirts.
We still needed to get dressed!
Plus we had time to clean out closets and declutter so your advice helped with that too.
    Happy Thanksgiving!

  298. I am extremely thankful that my daughter has had a positive response to chemotherapy this year and things look good for her survival!

  299. I am grateful for my 3 children, 2 of which work in healthcare.

    Audrey Meyer

  303. As a senior of 74 years, I am most grateful to love and be loved by my husband of 52 years; together, we are overcoming the daily isolation, restrictions of our city, health cautions by officials and praying that we stay healthy. Yes, we do heed warnings but are still celebrating the love of each other and family by cooking dinner on Thanksgiving together with our children and their families, doing the best we can to avoid bringing the virus into our gathering. I feel that love will guide us all as we want to do what’s right to protect each other. I am very grateful that we have the food we need to sustain ourselves with a roof over our heads as many others are less fortunate this year. May God bless us everyone, and bring us into a new age of health and happiness.

  304. I am grateful for the health and love of my family and friends. And I am thankful I have a roof over my head, access to clean water, and the ability to purchase food. It is truly the little things in life that mean the most to me. So many people in the world don’t have shelter, clean water, and food.
May you and Mr. Mickey have a Happy Thanksgiving!

  305. Living alone and missing friend time, your blog fills a void. I so enjoy reading about your outings, fashion, and lifestyle. I am grateful!

In addition to my family I have to add that I’ve been homeschooling the grandkids each week. Not remote. In person. I’m so thankful for these sweet, enthusiastic little people who are keeping me on my toes every week. I’m a lucky (retired teacher) grammy.

  316. I am thankful that my loved ones are safe & grateful for all healthcare workers who selflessly serve others.

  317. I am thankful for the good life I have had. I have my health, my husband & I were married 44 years before he passed of a heart attack. My son and his family are such blessings to me. I was raised by wonderful parents & had a great career in teaching.
    I have been blessed.

  318. Thankful my hope and my joy is not found in the things of this world but in the relationship
    I have with Jesus Christ.

  326. Happy Thanksgiving to you also! Your column has meant alot to me and others I have recommended to view your blog.
I was so surprised and sorry to hear about your case of Covid. You were really sick and all alone on the inside. My daughter-in-law has it, but only lost smell/taste–thankfully.
The necklace is beautiful and I would love to win it. Thanks for your generosity.
    Jan

  327. Even after a challenging few years, I know that I can be grateful for so much in my life. This year I realize that I am grateful for the “basics”: I am grateful for my health, and the love and light in my life. Thank you for helping me show my best self to the world. Mary 🙂

  349. I am grateful for many things this year….my partner, our beautiful home, our dogs, are families are doing well in spite of such a tough year, and having avoided COVID. I enjoy and appreciate your efforts Susan with your blog. It has given me much inspiration and I hope your health continues to improve and that you will continue to produce your blog with enthusiasm and joy. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.

  350. I’m grateful for my physical therapist (actually my 5th PT since March) who has finally diagnosed my back issues that I’ve experienced since March. It’s actually was a hip that was out of alignment and caused all kinds of havoc!! “Don’t give up” and “listen to your gut” are now my daily mantras!! I have many other things to be thankful for this Thanksgiving!!

    Have a lovely Thanksgiving!

  355. I am thankful for so many things during these strange times. The silver lining to the pandemic is that it has made me truly appreciate all that I have – my health, my amazing family, all the people who are working through these difficult days to take care of or provide for the rest of us, and the hope that we will all get through these challenges soon. Thanks for a bright light each time I read your blog!

  359. Hi Susan, we all have so much to be grateful for. The one thing that I am most thankfull for, is that my son seems to be getting better with Covid. He has had a rough time, and hopefully (fingers crossed) he is on the downhill end of it. He is a diabetic, has reactive airway disease, hemochromatosis, and sleep apnea. He is a handsome guy, my only son, and he looks healthy. I know you have experienced it, and so thankful that Mr. Mickey stayed clear of it. So you and Mr. Mickey and family, have a wonderful Thanksgiving, as you plan it safely. Take care.. Pat

  360. What am I thankful for, there are so many things but at the very top is health and well-being of my family especially in 2020. Thank you for continuing your blog it has been a ray of sunshine in this trying times.

  361. I am grateful to be back in my home state of Delaware, surrounded by family and friends. My husband and I were living in Mississippi for the past 17 years, he passed away the end of 2018. All our family was in Delaware, I was able to work out a move, selling a home and buying a home and head back to our home state where we had plans to retire. My husband would say I am on plan B…when our plans couldn’t always work out then you go to the next plan.

  362. I am grateful my family has not been effected too terribly bad by the pandemic. My daughter lost income but thankfully we have been able to help pick up slack.

  363. Thank you very much for continuing your blog. It was after the pandemic hit that I found your site. I look forward to reading your messages and seeing how you so artfully put together your wardrobe. It has inspired me to think about how I might be able to change my wardrobe to look more polished and fresh when I am able to get back out into the world again. I am very thankful that you were able to recover from the virus and get back to enjoying life. ❤️

  364. I’m so thankful to God for getting me through this year. The year started with my mother-in-law in the hospital and then we had to put her in a nursing home in April. Thankful she is safe and happy there now. Then at the end of April my mother had a stroke and heart attack. After a short stay in hospital and rehab she came to stay with us but eventually went back to her condo. I check in on her, take her to Dr appt, store, hairdresser and so on. In a year where so many are complaining about all the things we can’t do now, it’s important to be thankful for the things we do have! Happy Thanksgiving and God bless!

  365. I am grateful to be able to stay at my cottage longer than usual this year. Our cottage is in Prince Edward Island, Canada, which is in the Atlantic Bubble. There are currently no coronavirus cases here. As much as I will miss my children and grandchildren over Christmas, I am grateful that I have somewhere safe and beautiful to hang out for the winter, or until this virus is no longer a threat.

  366. I am very grateful to have access to your blog and other interesting sites during this year of staying close to home. Thanks for the time and effort you put forth for us!

  367. I am grateful that 2020 is almost over! I have had three health scares but am still kicking! Love reading your blogs!

  368. I am grateful for my family and friends, and a comfortable life including home, hearth and food.

I would love winning the beautiful necklace.

  373. I am thankful that my entire family and I have stayed healthy and safe this year during COVID. I am thankful that I have been able to work from home and spend time with my Aussie, who is now spoiled rotten and attached to me like Velcro! I am so thankful for finding your blog! It is fun to take a peek into your life and I love your taste in clothing and accessories! Love the necklace! Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

  382. What a beautiful necklace! It’s the first thing I noticed in your photos today.

Even in these difficult days, we have much to be grateful for, but one thing stands out for me. My son and daughter-in-law recently received official word that the adoption of our two newest grandchildren (a sister and brother, aged 11 and 7) is final!

  383. Hi Susan,
I am not normally a blog reader but I always enjoy Susanafter60 and look forward to each new subject. Please keep blogging!! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

  384. I am most thankful for the faithfulness of my Heavenly Father. Our country and world have been through so much this year – pandemic, political conflict, hurricanes, forest fires, etc. – but none of these things are a surprise to Him. He is still on His throne and promises (1 Peter 5:7) that we can cast our cares on Him because He cares for us. I have found Him faithful through my nearly 75 years and 51 year marriage.

I am a lady who tries always to be both classy and stylish (thanks for your help with that)! I would LOVE to have the necklace in the cool tones. It would really enhance many of my style choices.

Please don’t stop blogging. I only discovered you about 9 months ago, but you feel like a close personal and valued friend. I especially enjoy the photos of your travels through your beautiful Blue Ridge mountains and communities. I love to read about “The Adventures of Susan and Mr. Mickey”!

  385. I am grateful for my loving husband and son fo4 their support after the sudden death of my daughter two years ago at the young age of 44. I’m also grateful for wonderful friends, my home and reasonably good health.

  390. I’m thankful that my husband and I have not gotten COVID, that we live in an area where we can safely take walks, visit nearby parks and beaches, and sit outside in our lanai. And although we miss our kids/grands greatly are happy they are doing fine and all healthy.

  391. I am grateful to be feeling healthy after having Lyme disease. I am glad that I am a woman- who can enjoy having so many options to be creative in what to wear.

  392. I’m grateful for my two adult children, my
wonderful & supportive husband of 8 years and my parents. I am grateful for serenity, peace & contentment

    Teri Lovelace

  393. Coming up with one thing is very difficult as I am grateful for but as much as I so grateful for my good health at age 76 and my wonderful family I would have to say that I am so very grateful for my God, he’s there for me through good and bad but most of all he’s my guiding light.
    Patricia

  394. And I am grateful for you, Susan. For encouraging us to care about our dress when it would be so easy to slip into complacency and live in our PJ’s.

  395. Susan,
I always look forward to your emails & follow many of your examples.
I’m thankful for another year with my husband
Terry. He was diagnosed 3.5 years ago with multiple myeloma, an incurable blood plasma cancer. A stem cell transplant & chemo have kept him functioning normally. We appreciate each day together. We celebrated our 53rd anniversary on Veterans Day! We are blessed.

  396. I am thankful for family, friends, health and home. I am thankful that with a vaccine there is light at the end of the covid tunnel.

  397. I am grateful for the blessings I enjoy every day even in this year of 2020. Even when some days seem so very depressing I am still blessed.

  398. I am so thankful to have my precious 76 year old Mother move in with my husband and myself this year. She is full of energy and wisdom. We enjoy her delicious food, fashion advise but most of all, her warm hugs!

  399. I am grateful for my health, my soulmate of 53 years (we met at age 15), two beautiful daughters, two wonderful sons-in-law, and four amazing grandchildren. I was blessed to have loving parents and parents-in-law ( miss them terribly) I have been very lucky and I and thankful every day.

  401. Hi Susan , I want to tell you how much I enjoyed the lovely house tour, and all of the other trips you have taken me on throughout the year. I am very grateful to my doctors who have given me my life back after my breast cancer. Also my wonderful loving husband of 62 years. Hope you and your family have a healthy and happy Thanksgiving.

  402. Thank you Susan for your emails. I look forward to them each week. Thirty emails may come in but as soon as I see yours I open it first. I am thankful for your guidance, wisdom and sharing everything with me. Your style is timeless. You must be very busy thinking and planning your blog. Please don’t stop. My oldest daughter and her husband live in Florida. The other day on Skype she told me “I remember you telling me about Susan of Susan after sixty Mom and the time she lowered her mask in a washroom while out dining. How sick she became when she contracted the virus.” She went on to tell me how it affected her and as a result how she is super careful about wearing her mask and gloves. Not having people in and only visits from those people in her bubble. Thank you Susan. You are such a good example. Stay safe, healthy and happy. God bless you.

  403. The jewelry is lovely and I like the look with casual wear.

My eyes see this stuff easily so thought you might appreciate an edit needed on the
    sock site with your recommendation.
    Your quote says:
“Sheec No-Show socks are the only no-show socks I’ve ever worn that don’t slip off. The fabric and seam are comfortable. They launder beautifully with losing their grip.”

Think it’s meant to say “withOUT losing it’s grip.”
(Sometimes copy gets dropped during lay-out.)

  404. I am forever grateful for my daughter’s birth mother as without her I wouldn’t have been a mom for the past 25 years and know the deep love I have for my daughter, my best friend, and my miracle, Kinzie.

  405. Susan, I am grateful for so many things, I hardly know where to begin!! But I do want to thank you for continuing your blog throughout this difficult year. In addition to the information you provide and model so beautifully, along with the encouragement you give your readers to be their own unique persons, and to take care of themselves, I look forward to seeing the beautiful scenery and to live vicariously a little through the glimpses you share of your personal life. I hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving.

  409. Even though I am spending Thanksgiving alone because of Covid restrictions in my building, I am thankful that I am healthy, that my children, grandchildren and another child in development are as well. I am blessed.

  410. Hello, Susan. I am grateful for the nurses and aides who provide excellent care for my 98-year-old mother, who suffers with Alzheimer’s. Since our in-person visits are no longer permitted due to the pandemic, they are kind enough to do face-time visits twice a week. It’s wonderful to see her and hear her voice. Happy Thanksgiving!

  411. I am thankful that our Heavenly Father gives us a night of rest to nourish our bodies and to usher in a new and glorious morning so we can set forth to do his work. Also I am thankful for my family and friends.

  412. I am grateful for all the doctors, nurses and scientists as well as essential workers risking themselves to serve all of us during this Covid crisis. Also for family, friends, dogs and nature.

  413. I am thankful all my family is well and have been blessed enough to be able to continue to work but for those that have not been as fortunate as me it breaks my heart. I hurt and pray for all those we have lost this year and I feel it is a loss for all. This year has been a struggle for our entire country and I am praying that next year will be a better year for all.

  414. I’m grateful for discovering your blog. I finally feel comfortable in my choices on what to wear. Before I read your blog I never knew how to accessorize so I mostly avoided scarves and jewelry. Now, if I just had somewhere to go! Also, I used to live in Boone, NC so enjoy looking at the pictures of where you travel. It’s such a beautiful area.

  415. Hello Susan, I am grateful for my family. We have health issues but I am grateful for every minute that I am able to spend with them. Each minute is cherished for we do not know when our time on this Earth will be over. People need to be thankful and grateful for the little nonmaterial things with the trying times that we have occurring now.

  416. I am thankful for scientific developments that will soon provide safety & prevent fear once Covid-19 vaccinations are available & given to all Americans/everyone world-wide. I am also thankful for everyone who has helped make this coming event possible!

  417. I am seriously grateful that I live in the land of the free and the brave.
God Bless America, my home sweet home!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and you’re loved ones.

  419. Sou grata por conhecer pessoas generosas como você!
Minhas semanas são mais divertidas lendo suas postagens..
Obrigada por partilhar sua experiência conosco.

  420. I am grateful for your blog, Thank you Susan. Although I live in a much warmer climate than yours, your wisdom has changed the way I dress.

  421. Susan, I have learned so much from you and have purchased some of your recommended tops. As your coloring and general build is similar
To mine I have appreciated your blog, ideas, as well as the pictures of the outings you share with Mr, Mickey.

  422. I’m thankful for my parents celebrating 70 years of marriage next month. Because of Covid, family and friends are doing a surprise drive by to celebrate this weekend.

  423. Dear Susan, I am grateful for the love of family and friends, I am grateful for the peace and quiet of living in the country. I am grateful that I am able to foster for dogs rescued here in East Texas. I am grateful that I am able to read, for a roof over my head, for food in my refrigerator. I am grateful for America.
    With love,
    Your friend
    Annieb

  424. I’m grateful for my husband and 3 healthy children. I’m also grateful for you Susan because you inspire me to dress well and take care of myself both physically and mentally. Thank you.

  425. I am grateful for a lot of things. My health, family and my new home. My husband and I moved from Ohio to Georgia last year. I think it’s the best decision we ever made. We bought some land and a manufactured home on it. I love it here. The weather is sooo much nicer here. The peace and quiet is wonderful. It’s about an hour from my oldest daughter and her family. Which from where we live is a nice drive. We live in a small town. I don’t think we even have a traffic light downtown. With the pandemic I don’t get out much, and I don’t care because I’m happy and content right where I’m at. I think that’s the greatest thing someone could have in their life. Peace and contentment.

  426. I am so grateful for my health and the health of my family. So far we have weathered the pandemic, praise the lord,

  427. Hello Susan…I am an Aussie girl of advanced years and I am so glad I discovered your Website. I get quite excited when I see a email from you as I enjoy seeing the way you put together everything you wear.
I follow your philosophy of a basic wardrobe with the addition of the “French Factor” as you do and I get inspiration from each photo. I am so glad you have recovered from the ghastly Covid-19 and are ,oomi g as gorgeous as ever.
I would so love to win your necklace giveaway, as I have always admired your jewellery and have seen nothing like it here in OZ.
    Keep safe and well
    Warm Regards
    Nola Droop

  428. Susan, I realize that I am very lucky in that no one I know has gotten COVID-19. I am one of the fortunate ones and I feel so badly for the people who have had loved ones, co-workers, and friends suffer and possibly die from this wretched virus. So many of us have had to deal with this pandemic alone and afraid. I know that reaching out to one another through e-mails, phone calls, blogs, and/or tele-conferencing has helped tremendously even if we had to adjust to technology and it’s glitches. Thank you for being there for me to read and connect with when we need all the help we can get. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving and all your loved ones are safe.

  429. Dear Susan, I don’t always comment but I continue to love your blog: the fashion, the day trips, and the lifestyle advice
You are such an inspiration and I appreciate your work very much.

  430. Hi Susan, thank you for your kind words. I am thankful for my small family and that we’ve all been healthy. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

  431. Hello Susan,

There is so much I am grateful for – my health, my family and my friends. However, I am also extremely grateful to be living in Australia when I hear of the dreadful suffering and deaths in the US due to Covid. I hope a vaccine will soon be available.

    Kind regards,
    Halina

  432. I am grateful for my upcoming retirement! I want to be involved in volunteering and maybe even get involved with Red Cross disaster work!

  433. I am grateful that we have been able to find peace in a challenging year and support each other through these challenging times globally. I sit in Australia and we have been blessed and lucky that we have managed to keep things on an even helm, yet I know just how challenging things are for my family and friend in USA and Europe. I send love to you all. Sharon Ps. Susan, I adore your blog and I am happy to pay for any postage to Oz if I am so lucky to be the winner.

  434. I am always grateful for my family but more so in 2020 than ever before. This year has brought us closer than average as we bonded over sheltering in place and lingering over meals, learning the art of conversation, even if it involved zooming! Most especially I am grateful for the Grace He continues to bless me with.

  435. Susan,
I am grateful for all the love in my life. I am blessed with a wonderful family and loving friends who make my life so full.

  436. So grateful for all the clever medical doctors and nurses who have helped enormously during the pandemic. Also those who are operating today on my hubby of 48 years. So, so grateful. Thank you Susan x

  438. To Quote the lyrics of the 1972 hit by tThe Hollies.
‘. Sometimes All That I Need Is The Air That I Breathe ‘
You and Mr Micky keep breathing your Tennessee air
on your travels as we all love your jaunts.
You and he were both poorly earlier this year and I
am sure the fresh air in the mountains healed you both.
Where I live in Wales is mountainous and sometimes when things get tough
    To quote Psalm 121,
I will lift up my eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help.

  439. I’m thankful for my health! As a cancer survivor, I’m almost to that critical 5 year mark. The nightmare of chemo, surgery (5 cancer surgeries in all) and then radiation, taught me never to take life for granted. I value my life and those closest to me as a result.

  440. I live in Melbourne, Australia and our COVID restrictions are finally lifting. After many months, I am grateful for safe, healthy grandkids – their chatter, smiles and love.

  441. I am grateful for the time to spend with my grandchildren. The older ones 11 and 8 just hangout with my husband and I, watching tv or each playing games on their tablets after their classes. I especially enjoy time with the youngest (5 years) who loves art. She paints with me and I colour with her. Those are memories we’ll always cherish.

  442. I love this look. Your outfit is made up of closet staples and yet it is fresh and attractive. The necklace is definitely a keeper. Happy Thanksgiving!

  443. I am thankful for God’s Word and the peace it brings in these uncertain times. “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you, not as the world gives, give I thee. Let not your heart be troubled or afraid. John 14:27

  444. I am grateful that God has kept my family safe from this virus and given the doctors, nurses and scientist the tools and wisdom for the forthcoming vaccine! Here’s to a more healthy 2021 for all of us.

  445. Dear Susan, These have indeed been trying times. I am grateful for many things, chief among them -my family (and texts from my granddaughter saying “I miss you Grandma! I wish you lived with us.”). I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Thank you for your posts this year. They’ve been helpful in so many ways.
    Regards,
    Melissa

  446. Susan,

    Nancy

  447. It’s always a treat when I turn on my iPad In the early morning and see your blog!
I am most thankful for my family every day. Hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

  448. I am so grateful that my family has remained healthy throughout the craziness of 2020. We have had to make modifications to plans, but we have made precious memories including a wedding in our backyard.

  449. I am grateful for warm coffee, crisp fall days, and the continued good health of my loved ones in this difficult year.

  450. I am so thankful for the awareness granted me to recognize each blessing that comes my way. Turning my head at just the right time to catch a tufted titmouse on my balcony railing. Watching golden leaves gently make their way to the ground on a breeze. A second cup of tea in a fabulous mug while I work from home.

  451. Susan, Thank you for your blog and your encouragement for women who have reached such a wonderful time of their life. I have always enjoyed “dressing “ up and playing with makeup and in general being a girly-girl. However my life changed when I was diagnosed with a chronic, incurable disease. Dressing was not a priority as a lot of days, getting out of bed was not an option. I found your blog and it encouraged me to get up, get dressed, and do my makeup.
I am so thankful for God’s love and grace. My family can’t be together this Thanksgiving, but we have love and food on the table. We are blessed.

  452. I am so very grateful for my family..and pray they will remain safe..I am also thankful that soon we will have a new President!!!!!

  453. Hi Susan,
I so envy your eating disciplines, style and grace. You really make 60 look good – I’m heading there in a few months.
I am grateful for each new day and pray I make the most of it for the Lord and others.

    Happy Thanksgiving,

  454. I am grateful for all the love in my life–from husband, daughters, grandchildren, other family, friends, church family, and neighbors. Love is what matters.

  455. Happy Thanksgiving, Susan! I’m so sorry to read that you are having lingering effects from this awful virus. My prayers will be going out for you and that this passes soon. My gratitude list is long, but a big personal one is that I’m so grateful for you and your blog and all the things you’ve taught me. Thank you for sharing what you’ve learned on your journey. For the first time in my life, at 61, I feel confident and good in my clothes. Because of you, I now know what colors look good on me, what size works for me, fabrics, style, everything you’ve taught us. I’m so thankful you continue to blog and for the opportunity to learn from you. Many blessings, Susan.

  456. I am grateful for all your research to find these flattering outfits and your generosity to share them! I am also very grateful for my healthy during this difficult year.

  458. I’m grateful that at my 60 plus age I feel comfortable with myself and I can say I love myself for whom I have become!

  459. I am grateful for so many things this year. My husband was just diagnosed with bladder cancer. He went through a minor surgery last Friday, and we are planning for a bigger surgery coming up.
My adult children and grandchildren are a strength to me, and always a source of appreciation. I am so grateful for them.
Your look in this picture is a favorite of mine. I love to wear a basic white tee or top and accessorize with a blazer, sweater, over-blouse or scarf. My facial skin tone is complimented with white.
Thanks for your ongoing inspiration and ideas.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.

  460. I am thankful for the women and men deployed overseas who won’t be with their own families for the holidays so that I can enjoy the freedom of being with mine.

  461. Grateful for my health and hopeful for the return of health for my husband. A very hard year is coming to a close!
    Always enjoy your blog.

  462. In this time of negatives, I’m learning to be thankful for the positives in my life – family, friends, health, creative ideas and other things.

  463. I am grateful that we have learned new ways to be together in these trying times. I am grateful for you and all the things I have learned.

I think we have all realized how very important the simple things are in life and we will cherish them even more. Happy thanksgiving to all!

  464. I am so very grateful for my family, especially our nine month old granddaughter, Evie!
They have kept us sane during the Covid Crisis!
We are truly blessed with our three sons & their families!

  465. Susan: I am grateful for the consistenty of my family– my sister and her husband being best friends with my husband and me; my brother that I can listen to for hours–his humor and even the shock factor in the crazy stories that he tells. We are all in our 60s and live miles away but still enjoy a fall and spring gathering with all our children and grandchildren. Our parents would love to see us now! No gathering this fall because of COVID but have laughed all week by phone.

  466. I am grateful for your blog that keeps me on my toes and makes sure i’m worthy of leaving my house 🙂 – and I’m grateful for my health to be able to leave my house!

  467. I am grateful for your blog! I bought two white t’s today and have bought other suggestions as well. Your styles are so classy. Happy Thanksgiving Susan.
    Ann

  468. So very stylish, as always!

I am truly grateful for our health and family. We have weathered bumps and many things on the way but we keep on keeping on and make our way through this life with grateful hearts.

    Sending warm holiday wishes!

  469. I am thankful to wake up another morning and to have God’s love and grace He supplies daily. I enjoy your blog and the great ideas you provide to ladies to look their best, thank you. Happy Thanksgiving Susan.

  470. I am thankful for discovering your blog that has shown me how to streamline and straighten out my wardrobe disaster. You consistently show how beauty and style can be uplifting not only to ourselves but to those around us.
‘A thing of beauty is a joy forever.’

  471. Please enter me in your drawing for that fabulous necklace.

I am thankful for the spiritual reset of this terrible stressful year. It has brought my life down to basics. What is important? My family, my partner, my spirituality. I loved having the quiet time to stop and get to know myself better. And even though I couldn’t physically hug my sons and granddaughters, they made sure to keep me in the loop of their lives. I look forward to your posts in the mornings and following your life and outlooks, and excursions with Mr. Mickey.

  472. I am grateful for the freedom to choose during this season of my life. Most days, I can decide how I want to fill my waking hours – with household chores, reading, knitting, crocheting, spending time with family or cooking. The list is endless. In the early morning when I wake up, I view the hours ahead of me as a blank canvas that I can paint with my favorite colors. And then, at the end of the day, I look at the finished painting and smile with pleasure. I am grateful for the gift of choice.

  473. Hi Susan,
Im so grateful that our state borders are now opened (closed due to covid) and Im able to visit my 96yr old Mumma. Who has to go into care due to a fall. Up until then, she had lived on her own, independent and enjoying her life. She’s going to need much encouragement as she makes this new transition.

  474. I am grateful more than you can possibly know for your blog. You emanate the “keep calm and carry on” that we all need during this time. Happy Thanksgiving!

  475. I am grateful for so many things, but these days just for being alive and well. My family, through self isolation and discipline are healthy as well. The necklace you are so thoughtful to give away is stunning! I prefer the warm tones but am certainly not particular, as the one you are wearing is so attractive. Thank you for this blog and please don’t stop doing it!

  476. Susan, I’m grateful for the life of my daughter. She survived an overdose and we pray this will bring the help she needs to live with depression.

  477. I am very thankful for all of my family and friends, and I pray for their health and well being.
    Happy Thanksgiving!

  478. I love accessories to change up an outfit. Basic clothing pieces can be worn for a long time without being outdated. Thanks for always sharing your ideas. Your blog has always cheered me up during this pandemic and I believe getting dressed each day and putting on make up has kept me positive.

  479. Good morning, Susan,
I am new to your blog and am grateful that I discovered you and your great tips for dressing and looking your best.
I am grateful for my mom, who is almost 95. We lost my dad in Feb. at the age of 97. Our lives were changed forever. Mom and Dad had been married 75 yrs. I have so much to be thankful for and love for the “Heroes” who have been caring for Mom in her new assisted living community.
Thank you, Susan, for sharing your fashion, trips and just being genuine.
    Blessings,

  480. I am grateful for the ability to have this time to slow down and take a look at life as a newly retired teacher. Blessed to have had time to race through each day in the past years with unbelievable energy. Now I am slowing down my pace and still enjoying each moment, missing the kids but moving in a different direction. Taking time to decide on my new direction once I can get back out in the community! I want to continue making a difference and redefine my retirement!

  481. I am grateful for retirement. These are hard times for those who are working, especially those with children at home.

  482. Dear Susan,

Hard to find just one thing to be thankful for as I lead a truly blessed life! If I had to choose one thing I would choose my family, daughter Kate, son-in-law Matt, granddaughters Alyssa and Savana.

I found your blog a few months ago and am loving it! It makes me so happy, in the morning with my coffee, to read of your life and thoughts. Please keep up your blog, I am enjoying every single entry!

  483. I am so very thankful for salvation through Christ, my Lord and Savior. I am thankful for all that he has provided; faith, hope and family.

  484. I am so very grateful that through these COVID times my husband, who is very high risk, has been able to remain healthy.
Thank you, Susan for your blog, I look for a new one every morning.
    Happy Thanksgiving!

  485. I am thankful for my health. I’ve had both hips replaced in a year. Recovery going well. I’ve loved your tips and pictures on combining outfits, and am using a rolling rack to hang choices while we are not able to go out much, so I will have attractive choices (thanks to your tips) to wear soon. Thankful for every blessing I have received. Keep going Susan, you are a cheerful encourager! HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

  486. Susan – your blog lifts our spirits and helps to provide enjoyment each day. Thank you for sharing your adventures and ideas with us all! I am so thankful for good health. It sounds like a cliche’ but this year has been difficult for so many people and I constantly remember how fortunate I am to have easy choices during this difficult time. Your insights also inspire me and keep daily living top-of-mind.
Keep ups the great work and stay healthy!

  487. I am grateful for my health and the health of my family and I am looking forward to the birth of my very first grandchild!

  488. I am grateful for the life and family the good Lord has blessed me with. Even the bad that has happened in my life has produced blessings of one kind or another.
    Nancy Kane

  489. I am thankful for my faith in God. It has been such a stressful year that I don’t know how I would have gotten through if I didn’t have Him to turn to.

  490. I am grateful that I have a warm home in cold weather snd a family to love… I am also grateful for your post. It gives me unending ideas on how I can look my best. Wishing you and yours a joyful thanksgiving!

  491. I’m so thankful that I’ve been given another day to pass on the hope and faith and love that has sustained me and that I see growing in my family every day. I’ve been blessed through the good times and the bad. I’m so thankful for my family and how they love others. It’s the only thing that can keep us going in these crazy times we live in.
    1 Corinthians 13: 11-13

  492. Susan, I’m thankful to wake up each day. I’m especially thankful for all the essential workers that are on the front lines battling this pandemic on a moment to moment basis. I’m thankful for all the people that help one another. We are better together. It s kind of you to offer a give away.

  493. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! I am also a Susan after 60, and have really been enjoying your blog. I am thankful for creative people such as yourself who share beauty every day!

  494. I’m grateful for my health and my families health. I’m thankful that we are in touch by phone when not able to gather in person. Happy Thanksgiving to you and blessings for this holiday season.

  495. I just read my morning news article. Flooding from hurricanes Eta and Iota are driving people in Honduras and Guatemala to flee their homes, Ethiopians are fleeing into Sudan because of fighting and may run out of food shortly. Covid-19 continues to spread, requiring more shut-downs to keep people safe. These things and more are happening to people all over the world while I live comfortably, and fairly safely, in the U.S. in a senior living community with the Dow rising. I have NOTHING to complain about. I offer prayers of thanks to my God and demonstrate my thanks by giving back.

  496. One could use fluffy words and grandiose proclamations of gratitude during this season of forced solitude, turmoil, and health fears, but that seems rather obvious. I would think most would mention some aspect of 2020 in their grateful hearts. With raw transparency, I look back at the year 2000. I am grateful for the support and guidance of those who helped me to leave an abusive marriage, for God’s grace while rebuilding my life, and for a special someone who recognized and appreciated my worth. Despite these unsettling times of Covid, political shifts, and brutal despair, I know I am not alone. True peace is the reward for a grateful life.

  497. I am thankful for many things, but probably the most thankful for a gracious God who has sustained me through the downs in my life and allows me the happy times, my family and friends, and my health.
I enjoy your blog, Susan. I’ve learned to apply so many things that you share into my lifestyle and my wardrobe. Even tho I am a short (5’1”), pear shape, I can apply many of your classic pieces and lessons. I have grown to enjoy you blog more and more. Thank you for sharing what you do. May God bless you richly. Happy Thanksgiving!

  498. Susan, I am so grateful that my husband is well and enjoying life after a 6 year struggle with cancer. I thank God everyday. And I am grateful for all my family, even though we have not seen one son and family since last Christmas. When I pray every day I start out always giving thanks for all our blessings which are too many to name here. Thank you, Susan, for your blog. I have learned so much and the Three Graces necklace has been on my wish list since you first introduced it.

Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

    Nancy

  499. I am grateful to be living in a country that at its core supports human freedoms and fosters opportunities for each of us to achieve his very best life.

  500. Right now there are so many things to be thankful for, but if I had to pick just one, I would have to say my health. I have been extremely cautious because of my husband’s underlying health conditions. It has been so lonely at times, but I know I am doing all the right things to keep us and everyone else safe so we can all have a Happy Thanksgiving.

  501. This year has been challenging for everyone. I think what I am most grateful for is Face Time. It allows me to connect with family, especially my ninety year old Mother. She lives in Canada and I’m here in SC. Because I can’t cross the border FT allows us the opportunity to connect visually.

Thanks Susan for your blog, I look forward to your daily writings. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.

    Sue Bailey

  502. I am grateful for the beauty of nature. During the pandemic, I’ve tried to get outside regularly because being outside has calmed my anxiety.

  503. I am grateful for you. These blogs have not only inspired me to refurbish my wardrobe, eat healthy and exercise. I sense your faith in God and am eternally grateful He is my rock.

  504. Dear Susan, Thank you so much for continuing to visit me here in my home. With this Covid plagu E you are someone that Comes into my home and adds such cheer and I really enjoy seeing you great ways to use our clothing in so many ways and it was great to see your lovely travel photos of the beautiful Fall scenes in “Your Neck of the Woods” Have a lovely Thanksgiving and Christmas—Bonnie

  505. I am grateful for my health and the ability to get out of bed each day, get dressed and enjoy the beauty of nature and love in friendships.

  506. I am grateful for our family’s continued good health. We pray for all who are suffering during this blessed season.

  507. Iam grateful that my husband and I made it through covid. We were very sick but able to stay home. Prayers work!

  508. I am so thankful to have faith in Someone who loves us and listens to our hearts even if we can’t seem to know the words to speak.
Thank you so much for continuing your blog. I love reading them, and as much as possible, incorporating them into my life.
    Have a blessed Thanksgiving!
    Jacqui Barnes…Ontario Canada

  509. I am grateful for the ideas you provide. I have found ways to make things already in my closet work for me during the pandemic. I have purchased several of the necklaces you show as my new staples. Susan Haag

  510. I’m thankful for my family and the fact that, so far, we’re all still healthy. Thanks for your posts and hope you have a happy Thanksgiving!

  511. I’m grateful that I got to help package over 800 Thanksgiving meals for seniors in our community. Of course, we wore masks & gloves and socially distanced. It was so nice to get out of the house and volunteer.

  512. Susan,
I am thankful that although I have COVID right now that I have not gotten any respiratory symptoms and I have wonderful things to read like your blog to make me feel better and plan my wardrobe and skin care for the future. Whenever we can return to a more normal life. Mask up everyone ! Happy thanksgiving!!

  513. So happy for all the 1st responders that care for the ill. My health after 2 heart surgeries this year. Happy Thanksgiving to you Sauan.

  514. Our health and the health of family, God’s love as the unifying core, hope for a brighter tomorrow, a life filled with appreciation of simple pleasures. All things I am sincerely thankful for.

Thank you for the opportunity to enter my comments and a chance to wear this beautiful and unique piece. God bless.

  515. What a year!! But there are so many things to be grateful for: My home, my family, and my sweet little fur baby that I rescued almost three years ago. This gift would really lift my spirits, as I have had some lingering health issues since early September. Merry christmas everyone!!!

  516. As I get older I am so thankful for health and wonderful friends and family! ❤❤❤So thankful also for your wonderful blog. Happy Thanksgiving!❤

  517. I am thankful for being a 30 year breast cancer survivor. Diagnosed at age 35 with a 7 and 3 yr old I just wanted to see them raised. Now they are grown, one an ICU nurse, one a firefighter. Im so thankful! They’re coming home!

  518. I am grateful for my health. I am a ten year ovarian cancer stage 3C survivor, and had only a 40% chance of five year survival. Seven surgeries and 33 rounds of chemo, and for the past four years, I’m doing fine. Even more than my health, I am grateful for my loving family. My husband and I will be alone this year due to COVID-19, but we know that next year will be different! Thank YOU, Susan, for brightening our days!

  519. Susan, Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving. We have so much to be thankful for, but for me, it would be my God given salvation. I enjoy all blessings that come my way and I can find something everyday, every minute and every second to be thankful for. Thanks for the giveaway and have a blessed day.

  520. I am grateful for my 90-year-old mother. Also thankful that even though I didn’t get to attend my oldest daughter’s wedding in person, I was able to watch by Zoom.

  521. Susan, you mentioned that you thought there wouldn’t be as much interest in your blog during “these trying times” but the opposite is true for me. Your blog lifts my spirit during these days of Covid. I so look forward for to seeing Susanafter60 in my email. You have been a great inspiration to me. Please keep the blog coming.

I am thankful for my husband but especially for our granddaughter/daughter ( we raised her from 4 months ) and her sweet 5 month old baby. She text me pictures often to sustain us until we can see them again. We were supposed to have Thanksgiving and Christmas with them but Thanksgiving is off the table. My husband had an appointment with the Cardiologist last Friday. The office called yesterday and said someone had been there on Friday that has tested positive for Covid. So will not be sharing tomorrow with our daughter. She has no more family. We lost her mother last year and she was an only child.

I am also thankful for you and your blog. You keep me going on these dark days. Thank you for that.

  522. I awake each morning thanking God for life. That pure. That simple. While I have your attention, what a sweet thing to say about this trying year. You help things feel normal, Susan.

  523. I am grateful that my family is well, even after COVID hit my brother’s family. I am blessed to have siblings who make a point to focus on family and that means the world to me.

  524. I am grateful for the ability to see and hear the world around me. My husband and I have been caring for a newly blind, close friend that had a stroke, permanently blinding him. I am humbled by his humility and positive spirit. Every day I am thankful for the gift of sight and hearing. I will never take those things for granted again.

  525. Dear Susan, We have so much to be grateful for this Thanksgiving. Thank you for keeping our spirits up, by sharing your daily life with us and showing us how to look and feel better. Thank you for your giveaways, teaching us that in the act of giving. one becomes a beacon of light to others. Happy Thanksgiving to you and Mr. Mickey!
    Best regards,
    Annette Jacques in NH

  526. This world is a mess right now and people are stressed and unhappy but everyday the sun comes up and we get a chance to try again. I’m thankful for renewed hope.

  527. I am grateful that my sister had a terrible fall on March 16, went to the hospital for 2 surgeries while there contacted COVID, and survived 40 days in isolation there. During that time my car was stolen but I got it back a week later on Easter Sunday. I am grateful for family and friends who have loved and supported me during this time. I have many blessings.

  528. So many things I can be Thankful for! I’m thankful for each day the Lord gives us. I’m thankful for my family, friends, church, my job, etc. But most especially, I’m thankful for eternal life with my Savior. Thank you Susan for all you suggestions and guiding us girls to look our best! Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas!!!

  529. Hi Susan,
I am grateful for my health, my two grown-up boys who still love coming home, my camera, the beautiful weather we are having here in AZ, the tarragon in my garden and all the choices I have in life. Also, thank you for always providing me with inspiring gems in your columns – now I finally know how to drape my scarves!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours,
    Chris

  530. This world is a mess right now and people are stressed and unhappy but everyday the sun comes up and we get a chance to try again. I’m thankful for renewed hope.

  531. Love this look. Wanted to check out the jacket and the link opened in black even though all the other links opened fine. Thanks for the tip on the tees, love tees of all colors and styles.
I am thankful that in this time I am able to help people who need it.

  532. I am grateful for my health and that I can get out of bed every morning and that the sun is beautiful. That there are still many kind people in this world.

  533. There is so much that is wrong with the society we live in. There is so much about ourselves that we wish to change. In an attempt to make ourselves better and to change our society, many times we forget to be grateful for the things we do have. We focus so much on the negative that the positive loses its place in our hearts. I am most grateful for my FAMILY, for their support, their encouragement, for their strength and undying love.

  534. Susan, the necklace is beautiful!

I believe the best way to get through these trying times is to recognize our blessings – which are still many in spite of the difficulties that the virus has brought us – and to be thankful for them.

While I am thankful for many things, I think what I am most thankful for is my husband. Back when I was young and single, I became convinced that God had created a man who was just perfect for me to be my husband. I dated a lot of “Mr. Wrongs.” I waited as I watched all of my girlfriends get married. One friend got divorced and remarried before my husband finally crossed my path. But once we met and got married, I was SO grateful that I had waited. I’m not going to lie – there have certainly been rocky times in our marriage. But we are very well suited to each other. We share the same morals and values. As I look back after on our 39-year marriage, I realize that I have someone who has shared my life experiences with me. That is truly a blessing!

  535. Hi Susan. I would love to win the necklace. I’m so thankful our family has stayed well and employed during this difficult year. Your blog is still a delight that I look forward to reading Happy Thanksgiving to you and your loved ones.

  536. I’m grateful for having a loving husband, for having a daughter and her family live only an hour away, for having, for having enough money to get by, for longtime caring friends, and to be able to get books from the library.
    Thank you for your blog!
    Lorrie

  537. I am grateful that I am retired and can stay home and not worry about getting or spreading COVID. I am very content these days.

  538. I am grateful for your blog in these times of isolation! You are like a friend (which we don’t see too often these days!) discussing shopping and fashion tips, as well as sharing your travels with Mr. Mickey. There are many things to be thankful for, but seeing your emails, checking out your shopping sites and reading your comments makes my isolated world a bit bigger! Thanks Susan.

  539. I am grateful that you share your style and fashion help with those of us who need help. I also love your home. Happy Thanksgiving.

  540. You are always an inspiration of how to dress in a classic and elegant style. And that it is still possible to do so also in the fifties and sixties.

  541. I am so thankful and grateful that my family has survived 2020. We are so blessed!! Thanks for this opportunity. I am also grateful that I have found your articles. I first found you on Facebook. My closet has benefited from your knowledge.
    Have a blessed Thanksgiving!!!

  542. I am grateful that Jesus is my savior. I am also grateful that I have been cancer free from breast cancer for 15 years and ovarian cancer for 4 years. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

  543. I am grateful for my wonderful family. Being together these past months has kept us all healthy and sane as we realize how important it is that we have each other to count on each and every day.

  544. Susan I look forward to your common sense posts. I have taken my fashion sense to a new level thanks to your advice. I don’t miss a post! I am not one who reads these type of posts or fashion blogs but your easy going style and adventures with Mr. Mickey make you more of a friend with a good sense of style who is willing to share what you’ve learned. Thank you so much!

    Blessings,

    Cathy Coffman

  545. This year I am thankful for my family and friends and praying for the couple next door who currently are both suffering from positive Covid 19. They are in their 80s and struggling but at least out of the hospital.

Thank you Susan for continuing your blog. You and Mr Mickey go out a lot more than my husband and I do. Glad you recovered earlier this year and he recovered from his fall.

  546. I am thankful for bloggers like you who keep me informed every morning about fashion. Since I have rarely gone shopping in person this year because of Covid, your blog and those of others cheer me up on my morning read and give me fashion ideas that I can pull from my own closet. Happy Thanksgiving!

  547. It is hard to look at outfits when I am basically staying at home but your blog helps to inspire because you are doing the same. Rides in the car, walks in the park – that’s all we are doing too! I have never been comfortable in jeans though. The new elastic waist pants are filling the need. Looking for ideas for dressing up a little while staying at home

  548. So thankful for family and friends. This year has had lots of ups and downs and the whole world has had to look at life and death totally different.
Living alone has amplified the need for the human touch-a simple hug, not seeing a smile because of the mask, no visits from grandchildren. Challenging but so far survivable.
    Thank you.

  549. I’m grateful for your help Susan in simplifying my wardrobe choices and cosmetics which has been so appreciated after retiring. I also love nature and so enjoy the photos taken on your walks and drives. It’s been a challenging year for so many but a lot for which to be grateful this Thanksgiving!

  550. This year, our only child has blessed us with a grandson! Something wonderful in this world of turmoil. So grateful!

  551. Dear Susan,
I’m 75 years of age & am always looking forward to your posts.
I love your look & have purchased some of the items you wear – from Beauty in Stone, the pearl lariat necklace & the silver chunky bracelet which I have yet to receive – beautiful jewelry! I also love your lovely home.
I live in Sudbury, Ontario which is about 4 hours north of Toronto – we have snow on the ground now – brrrrr!
I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving!
Take good care & be safe!
Please keep blogging – I love to see your beautiful face.
    Warmest regards,
    Eileen Forcier

  552. I’m thankful for the best thing of 2020 which was my new grandson, Jack, as well as his big brother, Luke. A wonderful year to be born healthy with some great parents.

  553. I am grateful for my family and friends , for the beautiful country of Canada . Also grateful that you share some of your life with us. Happy Thanksgiving USA.

  554. I am grateful for the people in my life. Family and friends (both real and virtual) are what keep us going during times of trial. I am a hugger by nature and miss the touch, but thrilled I still have these people in my life, even from a distance.

  555. I am grateful to survive, with the help of my winderful husband, a horrible virus (West Nile). I am grateful to enjoy your column, being able to wear fabulous clothes, to be ble to travel and enjoy family and friends. Love

  556. Happy Thanksgiving Susan! I am most grateful to my family and friends who have continuously reached out to me through this difficult year. I think I would have lost my mind without them. I am also grateful that you continued your blog thru the year…. I always look forward to your posts! God Bless you & Mr. Mickey! Kathleen

  557. Hello Susan and Greetings from Massachusetts –

Thank you, again, for the generous giveaway! Always keep my fingers crossed.

My husband bought me the Beauty Counter Collection for my birthday, December 15th. It arrived a few day ago and I can honestly say I’m loving it. I also purchased the Merle Norman cosmetics you recommended mostly because I had a rash over and under my eyelids. Once the rash cleared up, I threw out all my old makeup and so far the Merle Norman is working! Can’t tell you how much I appreciate all your posts and advice!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and Mr. Mickey and all your family! . . . Julie Johnston

  558. I’m grateful for my health, and the safety of my family and friends. I especially fond of your site. It has given me a better respective of what I should have in my closet. You have been a mentor during these trying times. Keep blogging.

  559. I am grateful for the sunshine that people give to others; many probably don’t even know it. The supermarket cashier asking how my day is going, the mailman giving me a wave from across the street, the healthcare workers who are so thoughtful even over the phone when I’m scheduling my husbands chemo appointments. Kindness matters and I feel loved and uplifted everyday by strangers! I’m forever grateful for kindness.

  560. I have so much to be grateful for and so many blessings!! I am especially grateful for your blogs and look forward to them each week. Keep up the good work and Happy Holidays!

  561. I’m grateful for my husband whose calm patience during these trying times makes it easier to live with the pandemic.

  562. I am grateful that I live in the United States, where we can say what we think and learn from each other. In 2021, I hope to find the perfect non-profit job for my retirement years where I’ll be able to wear my casual-but-chic outfits to represent a good cause.

  563. Happy Thanksgiving Susan! We are mostly all so blessed this year. I am Thankful for good friends and my wonderful family. But I am also thankful for your health returning after your bout with COVID. Being able to see small blessings each day is good. Hope you have a lovely Thanksgiving and can celebrate with Mr. Mickey and your family. Blessings and the Lord’s peace go with you a,ways.

  564. I’m grateful for bloggers like you who have shared their COVID-19 experiences. The details you
shared helped me to have a greater appreciation of my health. Thank you!

  565. We are staying home this Holiday season and are thankful that all our family are healthy and safe during these times. We will want to see them when it is safe again. Thank you for your thoughtful suggestions on what to buy and what to wear. I always dress for the day even if I do not go out. I cannot wait for the day thta we can dress up again and see our frieds. Have a safe and healthy Thanksgiving!.

  566. I am thankful for every day that I awake. It is a blessing to be alive.

During this pandemic I discovered your blog and you wouldn’t believe
How much I have enjoyed you and your excursions with Mr Mickey..

Your advice on how to dress is giving me plenty of thought on a lot
Of purchases I have made. After my husband died 17 years ago; I
say I have done a lot of therapy shopping.

Please continue with your advice and adventures and have a very
    Blessed and Happy Thanksgiving!

    Mary Ellen

  567. You have been a much needed bright spot in these past eight months! Given me back the desire to dress well and within my own style and body shape. You have reminded me that flash in the pan style never holds up. So because of your posts I have gone back to the person who purchased for her best look and comfort. And not really concerned about what others think or perceive, the important thing is that I feel comfortable in my clothes and am happy with my choices. God bless you.

  568. I am truly grateful for all you that are showing how much you care about and love your family members by staying home this holiday season. That is true caring.

  569. Susan, oh how I love reading/viewing your blog. This 61 year old has learned a lot…..one of the main things is that fashion and style do not need to leave my closet just because years have come to me.

There are of course several things we all have to be thankful for, but, the confidence I have built into my system after sitting with you …is unreal.
I use to be the introvert at the party.

    Thanks

    -Joan

  570. I am grateful for many things, especially your blog. You are always very positive, uplifting and inspiring. Thank you Susan.

  571. I am grateful for my 96 year young mom! We have breakfast together most mornings since I retired 5 years ago, except since March.

  572. With all that has happened this year, I’m grateful for the unchanging things….sunshine, rain, quiet nights, and peaceful days, family, friends, and most of all, health. There is always, always something to be thankful for. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

  573. I am grateful for my daughter and her medical tests have come back negative. We have spent the last two weeks in a worried anguish. But, thankfully all tests were negative.
I hope you have a Blessed Holiday!
    Cyndi

  574. I am grateful to wake up each morning and put on my walking shoes and take my beloved dog for a walk. I love to sit at my dining room table with my 93 year old mother, 37 year old daughter & her husband and grandkids and delight in what everyone says. God is so Good! Happy Thanksgiving.

  575. I am grateful for the health care providers who are working with Covid patients. And I am grateful that there are three promising vaccines on the way.

  576. I am so Grateful that I live in America….I love my country and I am proud of her people….We are the greatest country on earth….

  577. One small thing I am thankful for is that technology has made it possible for people to stay connected even while we are limited physically.

  578. I am thankful for my health , especially this year with COVID everywhere. I am glad that you are doing this blog. It helps ready it every week and I have even started dressing using your look of simplicity which is really a great look. I have shopped in my closet instead of going to stores and spending money . I just don’t need all the fancy and expensive clothes to look put together. Thank you for all the great ideas.

  579. I am grateful for God’s provision; that I am able to share His abundance with those around me in need and He has given me a heart for hospitality and cooking that I get to share with people who don’t have a home or are not able to cook for themselves. Gotta go and peel potatoes for 30 now!

  580. I am grateful for every day I wake up and am able to get out of bed unassisted and make all my own decisions and spend the day with my wonderful husband of 47 years.
    Susan

  581. In spite of the chamges in our way of life, covid, the political arena, and life adjustments, I am so thankful to live during this time. The opportinities in technology to allow us to stay connected to family and friends , and all the essential workers who have kept pur world going.

  582. I’m just grateful for the opportunity to BE GRATEFULL… So many things to be thankful for, health, family, friends and freedom. Thank you for your wonderful blog, it has been an inspiration and hope you will continue for a very long time. Happy Thanksgiving to you, Mr. Mickey and each of your families.

  583. I am grateful for the artists and craftsmen who continue to bring beauty into our lives. Even during this
dark pandemic, I can feel moments of joy when I view their creations. I have a Beauty in Stone pearl bracelet, and
I feel happy whenever I look at it.

  584. Thank you for providing inspiration and practical tips for both lifestyle and fashion. You have a unique way of seeing the beauty in everything you do.

  585. Now, more than ever, we are grateful for friends and familywho keep our spitiys up in these trying times, even if from a distance. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.

  586. I am thankful for my husband of 45 years. He is a fun companion in retirement and is my true stabilizing influence in this wildly changing world. Every day is an adventure as we seek God’s guidance for our family’s future. May we continue to be blessed…

  587. Thankful and grateful for so many things, but number one on my list would be my health. So many people have been ill with disease and the COVID-19 this year but I have escaped these illnesses. Secondly, I am so fortunate and grateful to have a roof over my head and food on my table. Even though the year 2020 has been trying, I have been able to with stand and keep my head above water. I wish you and Mr. Mickey a Healthy and Happy Thanksgiving!

  588. I am grateful for having a home, food and a bed to lay my head. As well as my two kitties, that keep me very busy, but give me so much love.

  589. I am grateful that I have food to eat, a warm house to live in, and a husband that loves me. So many people do not have the basics of life.

  590. Good Morning!
Although my family has just gone through the loss of one we still are blessed to have family and so many friends who have reached out to help and support us.
And as I have driven through Tennessee four times in the last month I always have a smile as I drive on 81 by Johnson City I can smile because your blog keeps me going.
    Happy Thanksgiving,
    Nancy

  591. Dear Susan,

I am so thankful for my family and freedom blessings from our Heavenly Father. Bless you and Mr. Mickey at this time of year. Keeping blogging! You are an inspiration to me.
    Janet

  592. Your blogging helped change my wardrobe and decrease my clothing inventory. I feel so much freer and enjoy having a simpler life that bodes well for enjoying more of life by serving others.

I am grateful for everything. Even the difficult challenges have been used to help refine me into a better person focused more on assisting others than serving myself.

May you and the others have a blessed Thanksgiving.

  593. You really do know how to put together a great outfit, Susan. Love the necklace. Thanks for the inspiration and Happy Thanksgiving!

  594. One of the many things I am grateful for is finding your very informative blog site for mature women. Everyone wants to present themselves looking their best. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge and experiences with all of us who are following your postings.

  595. I am grateful for family and friends who stay in touch despite not seeing each other in person during this pandemic.

  596. Susan:

I appreciate the opportunity of possibly being the winner of the beautiful necklace. I am thankful for the daily things that bring a smile to my face. The little girl down the street who stops to pet my dog as she goes by on her bicycle, seeing that little dog’s tail wag when I return home, a text from a friend, and the companionship of my husband during these shelter at home times. Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving!

  597. I’m extremely grateful to be a 20-year breast cancer survivor. I’ve been able to watch my son & daughter grow into adulthood. And to have one grandchild.

  598. I am grateful for having a fun family and getting to be with them this year. I’m also grateful to you and your ray of sunshine in every post!

  599. Good afternoon, Susan!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

Something I am incredibly grateful for….as a therapist (LCSW), I am extremely grateful to my clients, who share their personal stories of strength and resilience with me. These brave people share very personal information with me, generally involving very challenging experiences and situations. I am continually impressed with how hard they work at feeling better and finding more peace in their lives, in spite of difficult circumstances. It is truly my privilege to work with each and every one of them, and I am eternally grateful not only for their trust, but for what I learn from them. They inspire me, and I’m so grateful!

Warm regards (and LOVE your site!!! It’s the best!!!),
    Kim

  600. Good Morning Susan,

Without a doubt, 2020 has been an unusual year. I am so very grateful for so many things, it’s challenging to come up with just a few words that describe in my heart what I am thankful for. Some are, husband Barry, family, friends, doctors, nurses, all front line workers, shelter, food, health, and all the people that continue to serve us daily.

They all inspire me, and for that, I am also grateful. As we enter this season, I wish you countless reasons to be thankful!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and Mr. Mickey. I always look forward to reading everything you have to share.

    Blessings,
    Katherine in Arizona

  601. I am thankful for my God and my Family, and try to keep things in an eternal prospective. I appreciate Susan’s blog, as it has been a welcome diversion from this stressful year.

  602. I’m grateful that at 72 I have good health and am able to help those older and/or sick family and friends. It helps me appreciate my health even more. I’m also grateful for the internet during so much at home time and blogs like yours that inspire me.

  603. Hello Susan, and Happy Thanksgiving to you!

I am so thankful to you for continuing to inspire and motivate me on my journey of renewal! Over the last year I have lost 45 pounds, and rediscovered my love of classic clothing styles! Your blog has helped me put together some stunning outfits as I continue to work on coordinating different ways to wear them. I always look forward to your blog posts. Since retiring in May, 2019, I have become a new woman, and you’ve been part of that transformation!

Thank you for all you do to keep us feeling and looking lovely!
    Joan

  604. I am grateful for so many things: for family, friends, freedom, security, health, and so many other things, including the small things that we normally take for granted. But most of all, I am thankful that God loves us all. May we love each other unconditionally as well.

  605. I am grateful for so much, too many things to pick just one! Thank you for your continued blog, cannot lie I do miss you on FB, but totally understand. Wishing you the best holiday possible.

  606. Susan.
I have enjoyed yoyr blog for a few years and try to follow your style tips and other advice. (I want to be cool like you.)
I’m thankful for family, friends and my pets and waking up to a new day every day!

  607. I’m thankful for the Lord who is constant and ever faithful during these changing times. I was afraid your blogs would stop due to the pandemic and health issues all around us. I look forward to them each week. I’m thankful for my health and families’ health this Thanksgiving. Happy Thanksgiving!!

  608. I am so grateful for family to look out for during this unusual time. The Lord is with us always. Thank you Susan for your uplifting posts.

  609. 2020 has been such a trying time for so many people. I am grateful that my job has allowed me to work from home during this past year so that I can keep my family (including my mother that lives with us) safe. I’m grateful for those people who are responsible to stay home, and when they do need to go out, they wear a mask and most importantly I am grateful the health of my family and close friends. I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. Thank you for your blog – love all the pictures and insightful words of wisdom.

  610. I am grateful for this past year where families went from racing around to spending special time with their kids. I am thankful that all the performers who never get to spend time with family, finally had time. I keep looking back on this year and though it was different in every way, there was good in it. It is too bad that it took a virus to show us to slow down.

  611. Oh, yes, keep blogging. Following you and reading your fashion advice is more interesting than all the negative and evil noise going on. I am grateful for the Lord providing all my needs and even some wants all year long.

  612. Thank you for all the information you have shared with us over the years. I sure do miss you on Facebook, but understand. Best wishes for the holidays to you and your family. Hugs!

  613. I am most thankful for having joy. This joy comes from God and a wonderful relationship with Him, my family and friends. With that joy comes an attitude of gratitude. Thank you Susan for sharing with your readers such applicable wisdom.

  614. Years ago I adopted the practice of writing down at year end a list of thing I was grateful for that year. So this gets me started a little early. I am thankful that those close to me remain Covid free – especially my 94 year old mother in “lockdown” in her nursing facility -thank goodness for window visits! I am thankful for my dog Wesley who besides being a great companion keeps me connected to the outside world on our daily walks. Thank you Susan for your blog – it has been an inspiration to me and I look forward to all that you share. Happy Thanksgiving to you, Mr Mickey and all those close to you.

  615. It is hard to pick one thing that I am ‘Thankful For’. My husband and I sat down to think of all the things we are thankful for and came up with quite a list. One only needs to watch the news to know how lucky we are. Of course, we miss friends and family for the time being, but quarantining ourselves is a small price to pay to help the spread of the virus.

Most of all we are thankful for a loving and supportive family. We are so fortunate to have a warm home and a close lake to walk by. I am thankful you take the time to give me new ideas of how to keep my wardrobe updated yet classic. Thank you
    Lydia

  616. I am grateful that I can give comfort to others who are not so fortunate and reach out to those people who are alone. Sometimes all people need is someone to talk to.

  617. Reading some of the comments has made me realise that there is a lot of gratitude out there. Some comments are sad, some uplifting and its been a little insight into some peoples lives. We can be grateful for so many wonderful things and wonderful people.

  618. Glad you’re well now and still blogging. I’m thankful to hear stories of those who have overcome & survived COVID this year. Thanks for the chance to win a giveaway.

  619. Hi Susan! I am grateful for my husband and our health. I always look forward to your blog and get much inspiration from it. The necklace is beautiful! Thank you for the giveaway.

  620. I am thankful for the different modes of communication that allow me to safely keep in touch with friends and family at this time of semi-isolation. This allows us to keep our spirits up.

  621. My David and I married 26 years ago when we were in our 40’s. Beside wonderful friends with whom we are going to enjoy a Thanksgiving Zoom get-together, and wonderful neighbors, being pain free from RA, and a nice house to live in, I am most grateful that after 12 years since my gentle husband was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease he continues to recognize me. And whether we are in the kitchen, in the car, or walking in a park, each day he’ll say to me…have I told you today how beautiful you are?

At first it felt a little silly to hear his special way of saying I love you to me, but to this day it is very plain to see warm tenderness in his eyes as he speaks his special words to me.

I know that there will come a time when he will no longer be able to speak, he’s already mixing up thoughts, but I am very certain that I when that time comes I will still be able to see his heart in eyes saying his special words to me and we will still be together and grateful.

  622. I am thankful for many things and some of which I seem to take for granted, which is not a good thing. I am most thankful for my adult daughter and my granddaughter with Lennox-Gestaut Syndrome. They both live with me and they have taught me to keep on, keeping on as well as infinitesimal patience . My granddaughter is the love of my life and I am so thankful to my Lord and Savior for her as a special gift.

  623. I am grateful every day I awake to see God’s beauty. Each day is precious. I’m also very grateful that a Covid-19 vaccine looks very promising and in the near future. So many have already lost so much.

  624. I am thankful for the love and mercy of God in these most unsettling times and grateful for family and friends and their love and support. I am also very thankful that vaccines are on the way to fight this dreadful pandemic. Thanks be to God!

  625. I am very thankful to be 80 years old and still able to enjoy life and my family.
I wish you a very happy Thanksgiving too!

  626. This year I am especially thankful for continued good health. On a living-life-daily basis, I am thankful for our community’s trail system, baking, and Netflix–all of which give joy to my days.

  627. I am especially grateful for my parents, and for their wonderful example of a life well-lived. They passed away 8 weeks apart during this awful year. Their inspiration lives on in their children, grandchildren, and great-grands.

  628. I am thankful for this specific holiday, Thanksgiving, which gives us the opportunity to focus on the many people who give great meaning to our lives. Thanksgiving also focuses on family, friends and food without the over-done commercial aspect of so many other holidays. I so enjoy your blog which has a simple philosophical theme regarding fashion and other aspects of life. It’s a little bright spot in my life each day that you post. The happiest of Thanksgivings to you.

  629. In spite of our tumultuous times with COVID & other events, I am very thankful for a loving family, good health, & enjoyment through little things like your blog. Happy Thanksgiving Susan! Would love your necklace.
    Colleen

  630. I am thankful for my health and my family even though we won’t all be together for the first time this year.

  631. Hello Susan, I just discovered your blog this year from seeing it on my facebook feed. I wish I had known you way back when I was growing up as a young woman. You have answered so many questions my mother never did. It has been fun to see you address so many things in such practical ways to help us be and look our best! At 62 years old I feel I have met the mentor I never knew!
I am grateful for God’s grace in my life to help me persevere through every kind of struggle big or small and that He will use them all for His purposes and my good.

  632. Happy Thanksgiving! This year I am grateful for the continued health of my family during these dangerous times and pray for those who have been less fortunate.

Many thanks to Ms. McKinney for offering this beautiful piece and to you Susan for the information, advice and friendship that has helped me through some trying times these past months. It and you are very much appreciated.

  633. I am grateful for my seventh grandchild who was born in August of 2020. He has been a bright spot in this crazy year!!

  634. At age 74, I am thankful EVERYDAY for life!! I have a wonderful husband by my side, 3 grown children, 2 daughter-in-laws, one son-in-law and 8 grandchildren!! They are all such a JOY!! And, they all live between a 15 to 40 minute drive away! We see them often. We are all getting together tomorrow for Thanksgiving!! My heart is full.
P.S. Love following your blog as well! Love your hair too! I am also on more of a plain neutral clothes line with added accessories! Works so well!!
Thank you for all your tips!
And HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOUR AND your MR.!!

  635. Susan,
Thank you for continuing your posts…they are a highlight of my week! I am grateful for so many blessings…my church, my family, my many freedoms that we enjoy living in the USA. . Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

  636. There are so many things for which I am grateful for. You know all the usual things of course, such as good health for my family and my friends and for myself
too. I am thankful to be living in this great nation and I pray that everything will turn out well. That smart, and sane people have the courage to fix things, so that we have clean and honest elections the next time we are going to the polls. I am also thankful and grateful that I am able to live a very comfortable life with my wonderful husband of over 50 years of marriage.
I am thankful for my iPad so I am able to connect with you and follow you, something I enjoy very much
I wish you a very blessed Thanksgiving,

  638. I am grateful for your blog that has helped this 73 year old woman to become quite stylish….if I do say so myself. I am grateful for so many things….. a wonderful husband of 52 years, a beautiful new home, my health, my sense of humor, my dog, Bella….etc!!!

  639. I’m enjoying your blog more than ever. You and Mr. Mickey are traveling for me and sharing fabulous pictures. Thank you for helping me remember times I wasn’t closed in….

  640. I have many, many things to be thankful for…to limit it to one here is difficult. I’m extremely thankful for my 96 year old mom, that adopted me at the age of 3 months. I’m now 64 years old and I love her more each day. God truly blessed me with the best parents any girl could imagine.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and please keep posting!!
    Sharon Alexander

  643. I am grateful being forced to lay low and be in the moment with my family and relish the time lockdown has given us together.

  644. I grateful for this beautiful land of ours. Our country continues to be a work in progress and a beacon to others around the world. Let us continue to be an example of freedom and what it offers to those who want the opportunity to escape oppression. On this Thanksgiving I’m giving thanks for our health, bounty and peace.

  645. I am grateful believe it or not for the internet, especially during the last 9 months. It has been a source of communication for me and my family. Without it there would be no SusanAfter60. So thank you for keeping your blog going, it continues to be a source of inspiration for many of us. I am also grateful for my health, my family and friends. I am grateful this country has some of the brightest scientists and therefore we are on the verge of administering a vaccine to the public. I am grateful we live in a free country and especially grateful for all the men and women who protect this beautiful U.S.A. Happy Thanksgiving to you & Mr. Mickey. Wish you continued good health and happiness!!!

  646. I am thankful for having read all the lovely and endearing responses these ladies have left! What an inspiration!!!
It lifted my spirit to see how thankful everyone is during these challenging times! Happy Thanksgiving

  648. First Thanksgiving since my husband passed. Thankful for the memories of all the Thanksgivings we were able to share.

  649. Happy Thanksgiving Susan. Thank you for your posts. I’m most thankful for God’s wonderful blessings each day, and a loving family. With those two things, you can’t go wrong. Please stay safe and healthy.

  650. Happy Thanksgiving. I am grateful for my wonderful husband and my son and his family. And thank you Susan for your tips. I look forward to your column.

  651. I’m blessed having a loving God as my Father and a beautiful family I love to the moon and back. Happy Holidays Susan.

  652. I am thankful for the love and support of family and friends. Thankful I still have my husband who suffered a stroke 4 years ago on Thanksgiving. While it has effected his speech, we still enjoy each other and feel blessed to have 29 years of marriage. I am thankful that the family was at my brothers bedside on October 10th, 2020 as he made his transition to heaven, that we weren’t seperated due to Covid. I am thankful for the parents I had and my upbringing and my faith in God. I am thankful for our country and all of the freedom we experience. I am thankful for great health and am loking forward to my 64th birthday on 12-24. Thank you for offering this opportunity to win this beautiful necklace, you both are kind and generous. I have always loved coin jewelry, I guess because my dad was a coin collector. Happy Thanksgiving to you and Mr. Mickey.

  655. Hello Susan, Happy Thanksgiving! I am grateful for finding the good and the positive in my everyday life; the value of the most simple pleasures and niceties. 2020 has shown me the positives we can find no matter how different and difficult 2020 has been. Enjoy your blog and your fashion. Thank you for showing us your style!
    Sincerely, Pamela Hershberger

  656. Dear Susan,
I am thankful for many, many things. From a loving family and friends, to the “friendships” I develop online, such as yours. Thank you for continuing to blog and offer us your suggestions. Happy Thanksgiving!

    Barbara Carroll

  657. I am thankful and grateful for each days simple pleasures, a warm cup of coffee, a loving husband, and being kind to people that cross my path.

  658. I am grateful for all the worldly gifts I have, fantastic children and grandchildren, good health, a fifty year marriage, and my ninety one year young Mother. I have learned how quickly this life passes if you are busy and satisfied with friends, a career you love that loves you back, and wonderful places to live.

Glimpsing the other side of the coin from a distance is a gift the universe gives some of us. After 2008 brain surgery, prayers and friends have brought me back to a life worth living. This weekend a friend from sixty five years ago came to visit and as we reminisced both of us brought up a carefree youth and cold water swimming memories from our Montana youth. We are happy to still be here on Earth and careful to be thankful in this crazy 2020 year.

Best wishes to you, Susan, and thank you for the encouragment, value, and ideas you add to my life.

  659. I so enjoy your blog. You have a beautiful sense of style.
I’m thankful for the time I get to share with you.
    Jan

  660. I am most grateful today for my family, faith and country today. I am also thankful for inspirational blogs such as yours!

  661. What a beautiful necklace!,
This year I am grateful to be cancer-free and finally living close to my kids and grandchildren.
Wishing you and Mr. Mickey a very happy Thanksgiving.

  662. I am so grateful that my 38 year old daughter’s MRI scan showed her brain tumors to be stable at this time. I am looking forward to being able to spend Thanksgiving, her 39th birthday and Christmas with her.

  663. I am so grateful and thankful for my husband. I have some disabilities that leave me unable to do much. He is always cheerful and happy to help me with tasks that are difficult for me…laundry, cooking, cleaning, going to doctor’s appointments….in other words, just about everything. I go very few places now, but will someday, and the necklace would help me accessorize much of my wardrobe. Thank you
    Beverly Schultz

  664. I am grateful for vaccines on the way so that we can all go back to living our normal lives. I enjoy your blogs, Susan, so thanks to you, too.

Very thankful for the good health of my family and the hope for a vaccine very soon!

  669. I am grateful for my family, church family and friends and for the various technologies that allow us to keep in touch. I’m happy your blog is continuing, Susan – it is one of few I keep following.

  670. I am thankful for my husband = even though we are in quarantine because COVID raised its ugly head in our house – and I am thankful for my daughters – their sacrifices are remarkable.
    Pattie

  671. I am grateful for 2020 because it has brought me closer to my King, Jesus. He has healed me this year and I have a new perspective on life!

  672. I’m grateful for the freedom we still have in the USA and for health of my family.
Thank you! For your blog, really enjoy it!

  673. Hello Susan and Happy Thanksgiving. My family (sister, brother-in-law, and brother) were planning on coming to my home in Sneedville, Tennessee this year for Thanksgiving. They live in Michigan and Kentucky respectively. My sister called one week prior to Thanksgiving and told me they were not coming due to the virus. That day I was so upset I cried all day every time I thought of it. I had prepared a lot of the dishes for Thanksgiving, along with Chili and Spaghetti Sauce already and had froze them. They planned on staying 6 days.

Well the next day I felt much better and realized I was not going to be alone (my husband and I will enjoy Thanksgiving) and how grateful I was for that. I’m not alone in a hospital with Covid, I’m not alone, and I have soooo much to be thankful for.

My sister and brother made the right decision and we are Blessed and thankful to be safe.

  674. I’m grateful for your blog. You have inspired me to make changes in the way I eat and I needed that. Thank you for sharing all your information about having a healthy lifestyle.

  675. This year I am thankful for the beauty in nature, the comfort of music, the adventure of a good read, the love of my family and friends, good conversation and laughing with those I love. I appreciate a healthy, delicious meal, a nice glass of wine and the occasional decadent dessert!
As an added bonus, I discovered your blog about seven weeks ago and have been inspired to lose 16 pounds so far and have started taking daily walks. I have been downsizing my wardrobe, adding pieces (like beautiful scarves), and am so excited with the results! Your suggestions are so doable and make such a difference! Thank you!!! I pray that we can remain safe until the vaccines are a reality. Enjoy your day and hello to Mr. Mickey!

  676. As another Susan (but over 70), I love your blog and hope to follow you through “susanafterseventy” and maybe even “susangreatereighty”. Thanks for the inspiration and perspective you provide – and the lovely scenery photos!

  677. Susan, yes please….keep blogging! You have been an important part of my self care while I am my husband’s caregiver. He has lewy body dementia. I have been with him without respite since March. Shopping in my wardrobe and feeling like I look good has been an outlet for my creativity. Plus, I’m learning a lot of dressing lessons I will continue. to apply when covid is over. Thank you, Susan

  678. I’m grateful for your blog, Susan. You helped lift my spirits many days, with your stylish advice and pictures. I love the necklace in the cool tones. I would love to wear and enjoy it. Thank you

  679. Susan,

  681. Today is Thanksgiving and I am so grateful to be alive and well enough to enjoy the many things life has to offer. I would like to thank you for being here for us. 682. Happy Thanksgiving! This year I’m grateful for being alive and healthy (so far). I’m hopeful that our lives will soon return to normal with the recent developments for a COVID-19 vaccine. In the mean time, I’ve been inspired by you to update and upgrade my wardrobe in anticipation of once again traveling, shopping and enjoying the many forms of entertainment we’ve had to forgo in 2020. I particularly enjoyed visiting the shopping links you’ve provided and have become quite a fan of Talbots, French Kande and Beauty in Stone. Thanks again for your inspiration and advise for those of us who are in a similar age bracket 😉

  683. I am so very grateful for my precious husband of nearly 45 years. He is the most intelligent, curious, kind, and interesting man i have ever met, and we each think the other is the most hilarious person on the planet. During this very trying year we have had some very stressful times, but have been each other’s rock, cheerleader and best friend through it all, and we are closer than ever.

  684. Thank you Susan for your guidance in fashion and beauty for women of grace! I am most thankful for my mother of 93 years old and bringing her home from the hospital to spend
last days of her life with family. God has truly blessed us!

  685. I realize I am too late for your giveaway but I am thankful for the inspiration and quiet confidence you share with us, especially in this world that sometimes lacks grace.

    Have a blessed Thanksgiving!

  686. Hi Susan, I am so grateful to have four wonderful (grown/adult) children who care enough to check in with me almost daily with a phone call. Unfortunately, this Christmas will be quite different since we will not be getting together. However, I must say I am so grateful that we are all, so far, healthy and hopefully we all stay safe. I will definitely miss seeing my four grandchildren this Christmas since they do bring me so much joy when I do see them.
I live in Canada and therefore we have already had our Thanksgiving weekend, but I wish you and yours a very Happy Thanksgiving. All the best, Irene

  688. I am grateful that God has brought us through this year, so far, and – although He never promised us a problem-free life – He is the only One Who can fix what does happen. His plan is always the right one, like it or not, and He has promised a marvelous ending/beginning for those who accept and follow Him!

  698. Despite all of the challenges that we have all faced in the year 2020 I am grateful that as we end this year my husband and I have remained healthy.
We have taken every precaution recommended to avoid the Covid virus and will continue to do so. At our age, it looks like it will be after the first of the year
before we are eligible for the vaccine. So in counting blessings and thinking of things that we can be grateful for (and there are so many)
a vaccine fir the COVID-19 virus has to be at the very top of that list. I enjoy your blog posts Susan and look forward to 2021.
Would love to be chosen as the recipient of the beautiful necklace that you were giving away.
    Happy New Year, Susan!
