A Business Look

Today, I am showing the same Covered Perfectly Micro-modal knit top from Monday’s post. Comfortable but professional looks are easy to create with classic basics. By adding a scarf with bold colors, including the same red, I softened the black jacket’s effect and pulled the look together.

The fifty-one-inch square silk scarf is folded in a triangle and then rolled from the long side repeatedly until it is a small band with just a bit of the triangle remaining. I placed it around my neck and folded it over once to form a soft V.

The jacket is old from White House|Black Market. The shoes are by Rockport. The bag is also from last year.

My prescription eyeglass frames are by Life is Good. I chose the size and square shape to complement my roundish facial features. That stack of papers in the box behind me on the floor is the first step of doing my taxes. Wish me luck!

The Covered Perfectly Micro-modal knit top is an excellent first layer. These tops come in several colors and with other necklines. When you buy two, the third top is free. The style I am wearing is here. On Friday, I will show you a date night look starting with the same red top.

Beautycounter, found here, is my favorite skincare and makeup. I model for and wear Covered Perfectly tops often, found here. Referral and affiliate links may generate a small commission for me at no additional cost to you.

  1. Hi Susan,

I love how you explain everything, no guessing how the look comes together. I’m involved in the “Find Your Style Challenge” with Sylvia at 40+Style this week. I think it will be interesting to see what comes out of this experience. However, I would like to direct the women participating in the style challenge to your website as I think they would learn a lot. Thank you for all of the effort you put into this website. I know I have learned so much from your advice.

  2. Sweet Susan,
You are spot on with your styles yesterday and today. I can see where all you have to do is change the color of your top and scarf and then you have even more looks. Thanks for the great info. So appreciate all you do!

    Many Blessings!
    Judith
