Breakfast Look

This past weekend, we enjoyed a lovely stay at the Windover Inn located in Waynesville. This is the look I wore to have breakfast with the other guests in the dining room.

I would never consider showing up for breakfast as if I were being served in bed. Perhaps I am just old-fashioned, but I do not appear in public in my pajamas.

I often wear royal blue tops with white pants in warm weather. This top is a new style for me, and I like it a lot. It is shorter and more close-fitting than most of my Clara Sunwoo tunics. The top is from ShopMyFairLady.com. Some of the companies I shop with often, allow me to offer you a discount code when you tell them I sent you. ShopMyFairLady will give you a 15% discount with the code October. (This is a small family-owned boutique, so the discount will come via a refund when your order is filled.)

The pants are old and have been worn many times. They are by Fabrizio Gianni. The sandals are by Vince Camuto.

Two of the guests were friends who trailer-ed their bikes to the area so that they could explore the mountains at their leisure. Isn’t that a great idea? We enjoyed talking with this gentleman and his friend very much. We wanted to take a photo to share with you because this fellow could have been a younger double for the actor, Bill Murray.

It is always so much fun to talk to the other guests and find out where they are from. On the first morning, we had breakfast with a delightful young concert pianist from Korea named Ji, who had performed the evening before. He is a pure joy to visit with. We look forward to being in the audience for his future performances as often as possible.

Later in the day, we shared a fruity dessert after a long drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway. More about that tomorrow!

  1. I LOVE this look – I’m not a blue fan personally but I do like royal blue and that with the white jeans is so crisp!

  2. Love this top on you. Since it runs smaller and shorter did you order a larger size than you normally order in Clara Sun Woo?
Thank you for the info on the Shapeez, I ordered one and I love it, it is much more comfortable than I thought it would be,

  3. It always impresses me that you manage to find lovely things in your favourite colour. Lucky you. And still you shock me with tales of pyjamas and hotel breakfasts, I’m happily reading along then I get to the pj horror bit! You looked a absolutely perfect for your breakfast and I’m sure the hotel staff are grateful for the trouble you take.

  4. Susan, I love your style! Could you do a segment on what pieces you start out with. I am ready to get rid of the clutter in my closet and start over. I am ready to be a minimalist!!Thanks so much!

  5. Your outfit is very pretty and the sandals are perfect. My kind of look. I really like the shade of blue with the white. I agree completely about dressing appropriately for breakfast. I do not like to see those who “rolled out of bed” in the dining room either. Guess I’m old fashioned too, but that’s fine with me!

  6. As usual, you look stunning, Susan! I love that top with the white pants. And I agree with you; I would never appear in public in my pajamas.

  7. I think blue is a wonderful color for you. I would never even think about appearing in a public room in pajamas either.

  8. I also like the blue and white combo. Looks super on you. When I wear that the comments I get is that I look like a Scottish flag or that I am wearing my school colours.
